The Guardian have just posted an invitation to put questions to Eddie Izzard. This feels like a great opportunity to get a well worded, gender critical question out there. The thing is I'm a bit stuck, collectively we must be able to come up with something though!

Post your questions for Eddie Izzard

Whether running for parliament or in multiple marathons, performing on film and in multilingual standup, the star will be here to tell you how on earth she does it

I reported the "terf" comment as misogynistic hate speech and I think its been removed.

Putting a different perspective out there:

Eddie used to be such a cool and inspiring example of healthy gender-non conformism (or whatever you want to call it) with a unique look and an obvious interest in support various charities. So someone that could be respected for his originality and good work.

Then it suddenly all turned ridiculous a few years ago.

Could it be that he also fell prey to the current obsession with labelling people as ''trans'' who before would simply be people who enjoyed cross dressing and challenging stereotypes? Could it be that this has messed up with his mind too and he went from knowing who he was to complete confusion?

I am really sad I must say that he has bought into this madness. I used to like the old Eddie...

Toseland · 10/10/2023 09:56

Eddie, can you explain how you switch from boy to girl mode so easily? This will really help children who are being taught they need medication and surgery to be able to do this.

theDudesmummy · 10/10/2023 10:04

Eddie do you know how many people you have disappointed? Many really admired, even loved, your willingness to challenge "gender" stereotypes about what men look like and how they present themselves. Now you are clearly just a misogynistic tit.

Were you disappointed not to reprise your role of Ursula in the remake?

Are the playground level digs at a person’s appearance really necessary?

It’s comments like this that give mumsnet and GC a bad name.

IcakethereforeIam · 10/10/2023 12:47

Oh, I'm not sorry. I'll try to be kinder.

But honestly, the resemblance is uncanny.

Lonesomefetter · 10/10/2023 12:50

There's nothing that would pierce his narcissism, I used to really enjoy his comedy, he has disappeared up his own rectum.

BezMills · 10/10/2023 12:51

Inmy experience it's more the screeds of bad faith bollocks posted my MRAs and their helpers that gives MN a bad name

I've gone in soft.

Hi Eddie, I was always a big fan of your progressive views on fashion being open to all. Do you think that the definition of clothing and make up as being either 'girl mode' or 'boy mode is actually a step backwards in terms of breaking down the social construct of gender, in comparison to your previously held view that a dress wasn't for a woman, it was for an individual.

Please ask this. Perfect.

viques · 10/10/2023 12:54

Eddie do you regret shaming young teenage girls who were using a womens toilet and were shocked to see you there?

Did your parents never tell you to keep your hands off your dick when in public?

BezMills · 10/10/2023 12:55

I agree that it's deeply unfortunate that women in showbiz are held to unrealistic beauty standards. It's a big fat shame if famous man Eddie Izzard gets swept up in this when he's wearing woman face.

His appearance is neither here nor there. He looks like what he is. A man in his sixties who has lived a full life and seen plenty of sun.

IamSarah · 10/10/2023 12:57

I am still waiting for Eddie Izzard to answer this question. I have a feeling I will be waiting a while.

Do you ever wear casual clothes when in girl mode, or do you always feel you have to dress as a stereotype? Why do you think this is?

Lonesomefetter · 10/10/2023 12:58

He will just fluff and flaff he is not capable of shame. Now nobody should be shamed ever apparently, kink shaming is the worst thing you can be shamed for... Hey, there's a contradiction (shame for pointing it out). <shame>

ZuttZeVootEeeVo · 10/10/2023 12:58

Why do you use women toilets?

You said in your autobiography you used them 40 years ago, and theres photo of you using them now, have you always used womens toilets?

Also, what would be the one thing you would do to help stop male violence against women and girls?

viques · 10/10/2023 12:58

Are there no decent hairdressers in Brighton?

TheHappyCarrot · 10/10/2023 13:05

Why don't you care about women and girls?

Boiledbeetle · 10/10/2023 13:23

Well the questions they are allowing through are riveting!

Those answers to those questions are really going to give insight into Eddies understanding of what being a woman in the UK in 2023 really means aren’t they? Though I think they might give a really good insight into how Eddie sees being a man in the UK in 2023, because let’s face it he knows more about being a man than he does being a woman. Sorry I meant he knows more about boy mode than girl mode .

BezMills · 10/10/2023 14:04

I too would like to know about how high the heels are and how you manage to walk past building sites without getting 1000000 proposals of marriage from the sexy builders from all the Diet Coke adverts. Always a problem, I find.

IcakethereforeIam · 10/10/2023 12:47

If you’re just fighting for the right to be nasty on the internet, knock yourself out.

If you’re actually here because you care about defending women’s rights, you might want to think about the impression jibes like this give about the GC movement.

Woman2023 · 10/10/2023 17:30

Don't forget ladies, we mustn't mock the men by comparing them to cartoon women.

That's much worse than men putting on heels, a short skirt and red lipstick and expecting us to pretend that makes them some kind of woman.
