Gigi gorgeous’s husband is pregnant

I wasn’t too familiar with with Gigi but I believe she is a trans woman and her husband is a trans man both have retained their anatomy of birth and have undergone IVF to have a child whereby the father (a biological female) be carrying the child.

Im semi GC I guess and don’t agree with having to refer to myself as a person with a vagina, cis and the pushing of pronouns and neo pronouns. But I do believe gender identity to be different (sometimes) from biological sex.

I can imagine this being quite confusing for the child BUT a biological parent is still carrying the child (unlike surrogacy).

this is for discussion not to be hateful to any person or any group

Man gets woman pregnant. The end.

NyanBinaryJohn · 05/10/2023 18:01

Gigi Gorgeous? Sounds like a porn name. Quelle surprise.

They are nothing other than a confused straight couple.

Bet their child will be like Saffy from Ab Fab. 😂

HamBone · 05/10/2023 18:09

Sorry, not sure how “money” was included in there.

The mother is a Getty (of the famous oil family), so they have plenty of cash to sit around and navel gaze without having to worry about reality.

Well being a woman, but (assuming you’re a woman too) could mean different things to us, one of us could be ultra feminine (in the early Disney princess sense) and the other can be a Tom boy, we’d be different enactments of womanhood but we’re still women.

im not sure what point you’re trying to make that you’re GC or gender queer?

None of that makes you a woman. The stereotypes about 'womanhood' vary hugely across different cultures and periods in history.

What consistently make a woman a woman is (assuming no medical issues): her production of big gametes and possession of the necessary plumbing to fertilise and gestate them.

Everything else about 'womanhood' is just sexism given fancy names.

I’m not sure if the define themselves as a heterosexual or straight couple given that they are both trans

I'm not sure it's anyone's business who isn't related to them. Perhaps read a book instead.

This.

I have every sympathy with people who suffer from gender dysphoria, but I don't understand why someone who wants to identify out of womanhood would have a baby, which is literally the only thing women can do and men can't.

Growuppeople · 05/10/2023 18:23

I don’t get it if you give birth you’re a women, I don’t wear dresses or heels and hardly do me makeup, does that mean im a man? 🤔

MyrrAgain · 05/10/2023 18:24

So a woman is pregnant? Stop the press.

Folklore9074 · 05/10/2023 18:25

So two people who love each other have a child. Big deal.

(and yeah I’m sure you didn’t start this thread to be divisive or spread hate)

minuette1 · 05/10/2023 18:27

Emperors new clothes. Just a man and a woman having a baby - a story as old as time.

Except with their insta etc they are pushing to make it lots of people's business.

This is something I struggle with, too. If your mental health is so harmed by feeling like you are stuck in a body of the wrong sex, how on earth can you bring yourself to get pregnant? How could you not find that disgusting and distressing?

I hope for the child’s sake that they don’t tell it that the dad gave birth to it.

Poor kid will be getting absolutely torn to pieces over it.

direbollockal · 05/10/2023 18:33

Moneymatters12 · 05/10/2023 16:33

And going to be the father of baby

She can call herself Donald Duck, but she's still a mother. A woman is never going to be a father. The father is the man who provides the sperm.

Oioicaptain · 05/10/2023 18:34

As this doesn't affect me, I really don't care. I don't care if two gay men adopt. I don't care if men wear make up or wear dresses. I do however care if women are sidelined, if their safe spaces are effected or if trans women dress or drag acts act in a manner that is derogatory to women and overtly sexualises them as that's harmful to the portrayal of women generally. But what two people get up to in their own home and family is up to them. I don't think that the kid will grow up particularly confused. I'm sure that it's quite easy to explain to the child and if it has grown up like that, it will be quite normal. Probably less confusing or damaging for a child than if it is with two parents that split or argue.

AgathaAllAlong · 05/10/2023 19:01

Moneymatters12 · 05/10/2023 18:32

Agreed

I don't understand what you don't understand. They wanted a baby. Yeah it was probably weird to be pregnant while hardcore leaning into being a man, but pregancy is shit for loads of people. I absolutely hated the attention and the pregnancy body when I was pregnant and that was mild compared to some people I know. I know women who were told they could die, and they still wanted to be pregnant and have a baby. For many people being distressed by pregnancy is not an insurmountable reason to not have a baby.

AgathaAllAlong · 05/10/2023 19:05

I actually know a trans dad. It was weird for them at the playground as all the toddlers and young children instantly used female pronouns, especially compounded by the fact that the other parent is a cis man, and very obviously so, meaning people defaulted even more heavily to "mum" and "she". Their own child used male pronouns for both parents and different word for dad (something like daddy for one and papa for the other).
