Gigi gorgeous’s husband is pregnant

I wasn’t too familiar with with Gigi but I believe she is a trans woman and her husband is a trans man both have retained their anatomy of birth and have undergone IVF to have a child whereby the father (a biological female) be carrying the child.

Im semi GC I guess and don’t agree with having to refer to myself as a person with a vagina, cis and the pushing of pronouns and neo pronouns. But I do believe gender identity to be different (sometimes) from biological sex.

I can imagine this being quite confusing for the child BUT a biological parent is still carrying the child (unlike surrogacy).

this is for discussion not to be hateful to any person or any group

I know a non-binary couple who are planning to use "Parry" and "Rennie" (short for "parent") instead of Mummy and Daddy. They aren't attention-seeking at all, in fact they're both very self-effacing and lack confidence, they're both neurodivergent and very sweet and earnest. Neither of them gives a toss about being thought "brave and stunning" they just want to be able to live their life the way they feel comfortable.

But every child has a mother and a father. Human beings are made from female and male gametes, even if you call yourselves Salt and Pepper or Tom and Jerry or anything else.

On the birth certificate, there is a space for the mother - the one who gave birth - and one for the father.

Biology isn't interested in gender identities.

I suppose I don´t particularly care. I do hope they respect the child`s privacy.

I'd say that ship has already sailed.

You´re probably right (unfortunately).

Monetising children (images, medical history, personal information etc.) on SM is a huge issue imo.
I anticipate a lot of scandals and court cases (similar to the "child" star ones, but probably more frequent...)

I’m not sure if the define themselves as a heterosexual or straight couple given that they are both trans

Straight as in opposite sex attracted people have sex and one gets pregnant: however they identify a male and a female made a baby in the traditional way

I don’t see any comments saying Nats is pregnant 🤷🏻‍♀️

I did

Every single person on this planet is as a result of the small gamete sperm meeting the big gamete ova/egg. Every single person was grown in the uterus of a woman.

You mean homophobic or transphobic straight people who fecklessly have children and freely air their prejudices around them without considering that the child might grow up to be gay or trans themselves?

No, they don’t think of the children. And yes, it was confusing.

Touché!

So I mean very loosely that to be womanly and feminine can mean different things to different people, some males are very feminine and that being a more feminine male doesn’t make that man less of a man, it’s a spectrum of masculinity, rather than a narrow definition.

OK.

So what would you say, broadly speaking, are the features of a gender identity that matches being born with a vagina?

KimberleyClark · 05/10/2023 17:26

Moneymatters12 · 05/10/2023 16:59

Really interesting… I saw another clip from tick tock of a biological woman (who was living as a man) also got pregnant and gave birth, he said he didn’t find it triggering because giving birth isn’t an inherently female thing and just a biological thing, was interesting

Well yes…..with seahorses it’s the male who carries the babies and gives birth.

porridgecake · 05/10/2023 17:28

My concerns are around the effect of cross sex hormones on the placenta and fetus. I watched a very interesting talk by Elaine Miller about the effects of testosterone on the female body. One thing she mentioned was that in the cases that had been documented, the placenta was significantly smaller than average., even though cross sex hormones were stopped in advance of conception. Given that the placenta is the organ that nourishes and oxygenates the fetus, this must be a cause for some concern.
I find it hard to understand how someone with severe enough dysmorphia to need to transition would be able to cope with pregnancy and giving birth.
I don't know how they intend to feed the baby, but this is another thing that raises issues around drugs and hormones in breast milk. Maybe breast feeding, sorry, chest feeding, will not be attempted.
The need for so much publicity about something so personal seems very odd to me.

Well being a woman, but (assuming you’re a woman too) could mean different things to us, one of us could be ultra feminine (in the early Disney princess sense) and the other can be a Tom boy, we’d be different enactments of womanhood but we’re still women.

im not sure what point you’re trying to make that you’re GC or gender queer?

Exactly, I sincerely hope none of posters pouring scorn or worse on Trans people ever has a child who has to face telling them they are transgender

NortieTortie · 05/10/2023 17:31

Spicy straight

localnotail · 05/10/2023 17:33

OMG I'm so confused now. So the dad is a trans man with breasts removed, but with all other parts retained - and he is pregnant now. And the mum Gigi - is a trans woman with breasts and penis who impregnated the dad. Fascinating! Were they together before the transition? Also, would be curious to see Gigi without makeup and filters.

@Justwrong68 I suspect that in the early teens, their child will find their parents embarrassing and annoying just as most tweens/teens do!
Children don’t always embrace their parents’ choices, it’s v. common not to, so they could easily decide to be a civil servant!

Desecratedcoconut · 05/10/2023 16:47

We don't even know the full raft of biological consequences of flooding a female body with this level of testosterone yet, let alone what that does to a foetus. But, you know, remember to lay off the blue cheese.

This

My point is that I don't have a clue what trans women are identifying with, what a woman gender identity is, or what they think their gender identity has to do with being a woman.

Literally, not a clue.

If everyone's identity is unique and personal to them, how can your identity be what makes you a woman or a man when these are words for groups of people with something in common?

Ffs sake, regretting clicking on their instagram now. The first photo is of them naked with their arsehole scribbled out.

You're joking? Well that says it all then really.

errrrr what? What does “he” think is female if not giving birth? Let me guess… makeup?

Anyone who thinks giving birth isn't an inherently female thing is an idiot who doesn't know what the word female means.

I hope I can teach them critical thinking so they are less vulnerable to online and religious cults tbh.

Genderism is a religion. I don't believe in that religion. It's racist, sexist and homophobic.

You can't change sex. No one can. Sex and gender aren't the same thing. Conflating the two does significant harm - so why are non- believers villified for pointing out these harms.

This is a heterosexual couple. A publicity seeking heterosexual couple. Who think they are groundbreakingly special.

Except. They aren't.

Ofcourseshecan · 05/10/2023 17:55

StarlightLime · 05/10/2023 16:29

These two are clearly a straight couple who need a lot of attention and have no other means of being attention worthy?!

In a nutshell.

Tinklyheadtilt · 05/10/2023 17:56

Goodness me what a load of rubbish.

Againstmachine · 05/10/2023 17:57

Woman gets pregnant nothing to see here.

And the parents sound like attention seeking idiots.
