NC for this.
For a long time I have always said to myself if a LWS event came near to me, the least I could do was go along and show solidarity. Seeing what has happened elsewhere has made me so angry, it would be time to stand up and be counted.

Now there is an event next week, and I'm really surprised how nervous, even scared I am about going along just to listen, and really just wanted to reach out for advice, support, whatever.

I'm worried about the vitriol of protesters, the attitude of the police. I have worked in pretty 'captured' sectors and am concerned about being identified on social media, or by acquaintances - I'm fairly sure there'll be old contacts, people I like and who I have had time for - protesting or certainly vocally supporting the shutting down of KJK on the day. I guess I personally run the risk of being publicly 'outed' and losing friends and contacts that will have a real impact on things I do that mean a great deal to me.

Yet I feel if I don't go I will always regret not standing up and showing KJK support on my doorstep. I'm even worried about DM-ing the local Women's Rights Network as I tweet with my full name. Perhaps if anyone is on this board they can PM here, or give some info about plans for the day?

Sorry I haven't seen any threads about this LWS event so apologies if there is one already.

They sound like they're from....Cheshire.
Mums a biology teacher.
Not from Kirkdale I suspect.

ArabellaScott · 08/10/2023 13:50

Woman now talking about the BBC and encouraging women to complain more.

I can get behind that ...

Stephannee · 08/10/2023 13:52

I've been reporting all the people using homophobic and transphobic slurs in the live chat. Let's see how good Youtube is at banning homophobes and transphobes.

MishyJDI · 08/10/2023 14:26

Lols and not a cult? Seriously? Its amazing how people get drawn into following her. These are the lyrics from today. Im sure an album will be coming out soon!

I would say next to useless.

Really enjoying hearing women speak despite the tantrums in the background.

Ooh an album of women's anthems

What a fabulous idea Mishy.

It could include this one as well 'for women's rights.' It always goes down well.

I may be wrong, hear me out, but I believe that may be a play in the lyrics of a song from a local, not so well know five (or was it four) piece band, so not necessarily a party manifesto.

She's certainly drawn you in.

Ohyoudodoyou · 08/10/2023 14:38

And excuse my grammar and spelling I'm on some Mind bending drugs right now.
Still clear headed enough to know who is the oppressor down there at the Albert Dock. (Insert name of choice)

Theeyeballsinthesky · 08/10/2023 14:38

women have been making the police’s lives very difficult what with us complaining about them being massive misogynists & violent bastards who assault and attack women

I think they probably like listening to women being shouted at

littlbrowndog · 08/10/2023 14:40

Why do these men cover their faces. Are they afraid to be identified.

why would they be afraid to be identified

MishyJDI · 08/10/2023 14:26

I would say next to useless.

The chat comments are full of hate such as "blue hair weirdos" and "tr**ns".

It almost makes it look as if the whole thing is just an excuse to abuse gay and trans people?

ApocalipstickNow · 08/10/2023 14:42

Let’s hear your review of this then Mish

'You stupid fucking terfs'
'shut your stupid fucking mouths'

is it a banger or no?

Because, having just looked at Ajax's video, the bearded ones without masks? They all have old food stuck in their beards. Eugh. Chippy tea shavings.

ApocalipstickNow · 08/10/2023 14:44

Blue hair doesn’t = LGB

I know, right?

Just look at them threateningly and homophobically abusively being penned in and screamed at with incoherent obscenities by a baying mob while the police watch?

I do love incidentally how 'blue haired weirdos' is horrific and abusive and should not be allowed but 'die in a fucking grease fire/get kerbstomped' with actual intent of deeply sexualised violence and death in the kind of disturbed ways a healthy person wouldn't even have cross their minds, is nothing.

And of course many of those women abusively getting abused by the mob are actually gay people themselves. Who would quite like to be allowed to be homosexual without harassment, rape threats, death threats, exclusion and conversion therapy from the TQ+ lobby please.

Are you only concerned about the right kind of gay people?

Joolsin · 08/10/2023 14:48

I hope all the LWS women and friends are ok. Sounds like the Liverpool police haven't done their job well at all. I was at LWS Dublin a few weeks ago and the Gardai kept a good buffer zone established and maintained.

Everyone keep an eye out for those little pink balaclavaed kids too, they might get trampled if anything kicks off - could change their tune if the terfs have to deliver them safely home to their mummy!!

BaronMunchausen · 08/10/2023 14:48

Very much men harassing women. It's part of the MVAWG spectrum. Sadly there seems to be a lot of these men in town because of the Labour Party conference.

Froodwithatowel · 08/10/2023 14:50

I hope the optics of this are all over social media and the press, and that the Labour Party are faced with the realities of the general public seeing behind the rainbow curtain.

Ohyoudodoyou · 08/10/2023 14:55

If they were proper activists they wouldn't just turn up to scream at women on a sunny day Simple's because it's close by. They hopped on Merseyrail from Heswall, went to Five Guys (not corporate at all) and wandered down before a pint in the Pump house.
Proper anarchists would be on hunger strike, not drinking Monster and living as little Japanese girl in an alternate AI world...

Maaate · 08/10/2023 14:55

Mishy, your mates sound like lovely chaps.
