Employment Tribunal starts next Monday, not sure if it is available for remote viewing.

I have sent a request so we will see.

My email said the judge was George Foxwell, is that who is speaking?
Mine too . Did I miss it or has the judge announced their pronouns??

Hmm, i can see the list of people in the session, but no audio and it just says 'no one is presenting'.

I just hope if it's court-based faffing with tech that doesn't end up costing Jo money because of lost hours. Her KC still has to be paid.

I feel similar about tribunal tweets.

I mean it's great they do that, but again is women giving up their time to do this.

Log out/in again. That usually sorts it out.

Third times a charm, thank you :)

Ameanstreakamilewide · 02/10/2023 11:44

👍🏻

LipbalmOrKnickers · 02/10/2023 11:44

@katmarie log out and when you log back in again select the little icons for audio & video on, they are from the tribunal's end not yours so you need them on to see and hear what's going on.

The technology for remote meetings has moved on leaps and bounds recently. I recently attended a meeting in person that was a mix of shared and in person, but the whole room had been set up with microphone/audio such that the camera automatically picked out who was speaking wherever you were in the room. So the speaker could wander about at will, and the sound and vision were perfect. And this was not a posh "state of the art" company.

MyLadyDisdainlsYetLiving · 02/10/2023 11:45

Ah! This is EJ Young speaking.

This is exactly what I had done wrong. Thought I was muting my own stuff. Thank you :)

Claimant is all electronic bundles, Respondent is all paper bundles.

LipbalmOrKnickers · 02/10/2023 11:47

It's the fear of suddenly looming large with full audio isn't it? 😂

What could possibly go wrong??

Good god, you'd think all this would be sorted out ahead of time wouldn't you?

LipbalmOrKnickers · 02/10/2023 11:50

Tribunal Tweets have still not been given permission to report??

MyLadyDisdainlsYetLiving · 02/10/2023 11:51

We can see the big pile of large ring binders on the table under the window. We all know that paper binders take longer to navigate than a properly assembled, indexed and published electronic bundle. Is the OU short on resources to do this, or is this a deliberate tactic to take up tribunal time?

CriticalCondition · 02/10/2023 11:52

Evidence starting Wednesday?

MyLadyDisdainlsYetLiving · 02/10/2023 11:53

Evidence won't start until Wednesday (bugger I am in a meeting all day)

LarkLane · 02/10/2023 11:53

The OU seems to be channelling its inner Jarndyce v Jarndyce

CriticalCondition · 02/10/2023 11:55

Indirect discrimination claim withdrawn and notified to the court by email on 14th Sept. Tribunal didn't know.

Don't they always!

Ameanstreakamilewide · 02/10/2023 11:57

Are they reading tomorrow?

😂
The good news is the panel and Ben are using electronic bundles so he can guide her.

From my experience the person giving evidence has to have a “clean” bundle to refer to.

LipbalmOrKnickers · 02/10/2023 11:57

When I studied with OU absolutely everything was submitted electronically except exams and one end of course piece that had to be printed in duplicate and sent by post to Milton Keynes. This was about seven years ago. They definitely have the resources to produce an electronic bundle, and the documents must already exist in electronic form unless they would have us believe there is someone sat banging away on a manual typewriter somewhere.

MyLadyDisdainlsYetLiving · 02/10/2023 12:00

Justin has closed the meeting to those of us online at the request of EJ Young. That's it until Wednesday I guess.
