Employment Tribunal starts next Monday, not sure if it is available for remote viewing.

I have sent a request so we will see.

I just hope if it's court-based faffing with tech that doesn't end up costing Jo money because of lost hours. Her KC still has to be paid.

I got automatically chucked out of the waiting room after an hour. Back in again. Glad to say that my inbox and bathrooms are now sparkling clean as a result of the looong wait.

Has anyone who was near Watford and thinking of attending made it to the court? If so could you let us know if it is underway and they are just struggling with tech issues?

This is a very good point. I, and lots of other, poorly paid women will have contributed to Jo's costs and it's not acceptable for them to be eating into her costs, using up our money, due to being incompetent. If I was this crap at setting up online meetings and / or hadn't agreed whether or not a meeting could happen online ahead of time I'd lose my job.

I am feeling cross. This case has importance for all women who believe in the scientific fact of two sexes in all mammals (which has been a fact for millions of years) and that this fact matters. It is important for our employment rights and freedom of speech.

This is only confirming my strong suspicion that women in this country are being priced / delayed out of justice.

There is absolutely no excuse for this, they will have known how many people wanted access ahead of time and surely this could have been sorted ahead of time. It's not as if this hasn't happened before.

So we're in. Cameras are supposed to be on but microphones off, vast majority of observers have camera off. We can see Jo and Ben and the presumably observers behind them, but not the panel. We can hear a female voice speaking, but we can't hear Ben speaking.

They started introductions and Ben was asked for his pronouns.

Justin is the IT guy trying to connect Jo's solicitor, I suspect we may hear more from him over the coming days.

I hope BC uses the judges request for pronouns as a reason for appeal if it goes that way.

It's the equivalent of asking what denomination of Christianity you are (if you're a Muslim) and refusing to countenance the existence of other religions (i.e. a protected characteristic). It's DISCRIMINATION.
