Tough Crowd, due out 12 October. I’m delighted to see this. He is such a good writer and has sacrificed so much in defence of women’s rights and reality itself. Hope it’s a smash hit.

Let’s hope he’s using a Sharpie, much smoother on the hand!

New pic of Glinner on Twitter/X surrounded by piles of books, saying he's about to start signing 3,500 of them!

Looks as if everybody who ordered direct from publisher will have a signed copy...

500 a day for the next week, easy peasy (!)

When wanker's cramp is workplace injury.

LoobiJee · 30/09/2023 09:05

Personally, I don't want to live in a world where little boys playing with dolls and little girls who don't like wearing pink are subjected to lifelong medical intervention because lunatics think these kids are in the wrong body. If that's the right side of history, then history can go fk itself.”

^^

and

I had another meeting around the supposed problem of my defending women and girls, in which, as always, no one could locate the flaw in my analysis as I explained over and over again: 'Children are being hurt. Women are losing their sports, their language, their privacy.'”

napody · 30/09/2023 09:21

I imagine it's a one off extract, not serialising? I hope other papers do the same- I don't want it to look as if it's TOO associated with the DM.

Great to get a sneaky peek though!

Radyward · 30/09/2023 09:53

He wont be " allowed' on any chat show to promote this. Did you see the excerpt on mail online
Marriage crumbled with the threats from these lunatics

Did The IT Crowd and Father Ted ever get taken off TV? Was watching them on E4 last night wondering if they had ever been unavailable at any point?

inkjet · 30/09/2023 11:07

I really want there to be colour pictures of the women like Hayden in the book.

AInightingale · 30/09/2023 11:16

Is there any chance of Waterstones stocking this, or putting it on display if they do? It's very childish of me, but I'm looking forward to the fuss.

I've definitely seen recent repeats of Father Ted on a Freeview channel, and they always have it on at Christmas. The Christmas Eve episode (lost in the Dublin lingerie department) is a calendar highlight.

I'm going to ask my local library to stock it as well. I'm in the mood to make a fuss.

AInightingale · 30/09/2023 13:44

Hah, my local library manager is blue-haired twenty-something with a ring thru her nose, @AutumnCrow .Appearances can be deceptive but I would think a request would not go down well at my branch!

All the more reason to ask, then. 😁

Graham doesn't get paid anything from the repeats. I remember he explained that on one of his videos. Writers can end up getting very little from their work as far as I can tell. One of my dc is a writer and their income is a mix of fees per piece of work, which are reasonable but time related, and royalties for what they write for other people. The royalties are literally pennies.

Abhannmor · 30/09/2023 15:31

True @porridgecake . Same with songwriting. McCartney said he'd hate to be starting now ' you can't get paid'. I suppose writing fiction will revert to being an amateur pursuit of the idle rich. With a few token normies.

porridgecake · 30/09/2023 15:39

I have a friend just released his first album with a huge record label. The small print in the contract would have left him with practically no payment at all for his work. Luckily he had taken the time to read it all very carefully and took out a loan for specialist legal advice. That is with him writing and performing! If you write for other artists you barely get an acknowledgement and certainly very little money.

Madcats · 30/09/2023 16:08

Glinners has started signing the publisher-distributed books. He looked to be on his third pen in the photo I saw.

quantumbutterfly · 30/09/2023 16:17

Just ordered my copy.

Vegemiteandhoneyontoast · 30/09/2023 16:23

If he's there signing 3500 books, does that mean later orders don't get signed?

IcakethereforeIam · 30/09/2023 16:26

I hope they all get signed. Perhaps they just needed a number.

RoyalCorgi · 30/09/2023 17:10

Good excerpt in the Daily Mail. Did anyone else notice the comments? Only 11, which doesn't feel like a lot for this kind of article, but the top supportive comment for Graham has 12,800 likes. That is way, way above the normal number of likes you'd get on a Mail piece even a popular one. Suggests to me either someone is gaming the likes (but who could be bothered?) or that Graham has a hell of a lot of support out there in the world of ordinary people whose brains and sense of human decency haven't been destroyed by capitulation to trans ideology.

MrsOvertonsWindow · 30/09/2023 17:39

"or that Graham has a hell of a lot of support out there in the world of ordinary people whose brains and sense of human decency haven't been destroyed by capitulation to trans ideology".

Spot on @RoyalCorgi . Take a look at the comments under so many articles about all this. Outrage at the extent of trans extremism, horror that children have been relentlessly targeted & a genuine recognition of the courage of JKR, Maya, Graham and countless other individuals challenging all this.

I noticed only 11 comments and thought it must be a glitch as Mail readers aren't normally backwards at coming forward! Great to see so many likes.
