Tough Crowd, due out 12 October. I’m delighted to see this. He is such a good writer and has sacrificed so much in defence of women’s rights and reality itself. Hope it’s a smash hit.

This is still on Wiki. Amazon appears to have lost the Russell Brand quote.

I understand that Mr Brand may have other questions to manage atm.

MavisMcMinty · 17/09/2023 00:10

OMG! You made me google Brand. Blimey.

WarriorN · 17/09/2023 09:17

Blimey indeed ...

I don't agree with everything Graham Linehan puts forward, but I have been very saddened by how he has been treated. I have ordered the book from the publisher and I hope very much that it does really well. He's a brilliant writer so I'm looking forward to reading

Very much enjoying Willoughby's rage on the RA quote, which comes with a helpful round up of other celebrities who have been brave enough to speak for sense and science

I love the smell of incoherent flimflam in the morning.

Abhannmor · 17/09/2023 14:07

Managed to order from Eye books. Hooray. Might get another copy or two for presents when funds allow. So glad for Glinner. Like others I wish he give Twitter a break ...maybe do a book tour. Better for his head!

MavisMcMinty · 17/09/2023 15:59

Have to wait for pension day, but will definitely be buying a copy of Glinner’s book, he deserves the income and if his sitcoms are anything to go buy, it will be funny and well-written.

Deadringer · 19/09/2023 00:00

Just had a look on Amazon and it says Tough Crowd is currently unavailable, the hardback anyway. I dont understand how it can be unavailable if its a pre order?

Maybe they've sold out of their current warehouse physical stash? The Kindle version is still for sale.

And it's still available through the publisher (Eye books / Lightning) from what I can see online?

StephanieSuperpowers · 19/09/2023 09:21

I got an email from Amazon saying that I won't get my copy until Nov 3rd at the earliest. So there must be a demand that they would never have predicted.

SomersetBrie · 19/09/2023 10:27

Available through Waterstones also I think.
I think this book is coming just at the right time. A year ago and maybe people would still be unsure, but I feel the tide is turning.
I hope it's a massive success, I can't wait for my copy.

NoWordForFluffy · 19/09/2023 10:27

That's great news! Emergency printing run is go!

Fabulous! I’m so glad for him.

BoreOfWhabylon · 19/09/2023 12:28

No, not a print problem, according to Simon Edge. Amazon didn't know why it had been listed as not available. It's back on Amazon now though.

I suspect TRA manipulation.

Of course, it being unavailable has caused it to plummet in the rankings Hmm

Forestdweller11 · 19/09/2023 12:45

Might be an Amazon glitch. I know Rory cellan Jones has had similar problems with his new book. And I don't believe he will have overtly upset TRAs .

gailforce1 · 19/09/2023 14:03

I completed a purchase request at my library and have received an email this morning to confirm that they will be purchasing. I hope others who are library members will do this as well.

Good idea! I'll do this - I'm registered with two different councils libraries 😁

That is annoying- but it's probably sitting in lots of baskets and wish links so when available its rise will be impossible to ignore!

Battytwatty · 20/09/2023 09:02

Ordered today and never bought a hardback in my life. I also subscribe to Glinners Substack too. A true hero of mine and would love to meet him and tell him that in person.

MalagaNights and anyone else posting their order number, there are concerns expressed upthread that if there are TRAs on staff with the publisher then this information could be used to dox you.

Slothtoes · 21/09/2023 09:23

Would be really great if everyone asks their local council run library to order this. If you haven’t done it before, you just need to google your local authority and purchase request. Quick and easy form to fill in from most of the ones I’ve seen online.
If you live somewhere where libraries are volunteer-run following Tory austerity budgets then hopefully they still have a similar system.
