I can’t see it mentioned on the thread but it looks like there’s some sort of attempt on amazon to distract from GL’s book. There’s a kindle publication with a release date of 14 September and a title of “GL’s BIOGRAPHY”, author Alexander j Youngs, and a black cover with an old photo of GL, priced as free on kindle unlimited. It’s further down the page if you put in tough crowd as a search item.

Presumably whoever did that wants people to click on that instead of Graham’s actual book so that Tough Crowd goes down the rankings?

I changed my mind, I want a signed copy as soon as it comes out and I also want Glinner to get more of the profit from a sale than Amazon provides, so I’ve ordered a copy from the publisher instead of asking for it as a birthday present later in the year.
Some decent stuff from Eye Books too, so I’ll be adding that to my list of booksellers to buy from in future.

If they had any confidence in their own side, they'd buy a copy when it was out, read it and come up with a list of carefully-evidenced refutations of every time he was wrong.
But, of course, he's not wrong so it's spamming self publishing nonsense onto amazon to try stop people reading it. 🙄

Yes, probably just AI generated content. There's a depressing amount of crappie attempts to make money on Amazon - from downloaded pdfs of copyright free texts to this type of thing.

Actually, having read the sample, I'm not sure this is a TRA thing. I think that it might be something else.
There are a lot of spammer 'authors' who watch what's rising and then rapidly write short works to try make money off the coat tails of anything trending.
It seems all generic fluff. I'd expect at least a little character assassination from a TRA

The blurb is far too complimentary to have been written by a TRA.

The author of The Establishment, Owen Jones (2014) had his book 'blurbed' on the front cover by Russell Brand. 'Our generation's Orwell', apparently.

I think the TRAs should think twice about playing the blurb game. Nobody gets to win the cuddly toy.
