Tough Crowd, due out 12 October. I’m delighted to see this. He is such a good writer and has sacrificed so much in defence of women’s rights and reality itself. Hope it’s a smash hit.

Wow, I haven't RTFT so forgive me if this has been mentioned, but this is at #7 in Amazon.

That's a lot.

I went for the free subscription but didn’t get an option to buy the book direct. Anyone another link?

OnTheBoardwalk · 14/09/2023 21:46

Though to be fair trending on Amazon will be great publicity so maybe not a bad thing

lechiffre55 · 14/09/2023 21:58

If you want to buy direct from the publisher, here is a link.

You have to scroll down a little, but Glinner is hard to miss :)
I THINK every copy bought direct from the publisher gets signed but I'm not sure. Perhaps somone could confirm/debunk?
Amazon takes a hefty slice, in fact a few slices of the pie, but the upside is that it has a ton of visibility.

Even if you buy it cheaply somewhere, or on Amazon, every copy counts positively. It's at the pre order phase now. I don't know if it's been printed, but if it hasn't knowing the numbers really helps the publisher work out how many to have printed and get volume discounts in printing, second print run etc.... Sales numbers also make other people sit up and take notice, e.g. audibook producer etc....

Every copy bought supports Glinner no matter where you buy it.
Also some moron somewhere who hates women cries every time a copy is bought. Make sure they are "literally shaking right now".

I've ordered my copy from Eye Books (order number was 8100+ if that does mean anything)

BoreOfWhabylon · 14/09/2023 22:22

I'm actually feeling a bit tearful.

I cannot support Glinner publicly sadly but I will be buying his book. It’s the very least we can do. He’s lost so much. I pray that this is the way back for him.

RhannionKPSS · 14/09/2023 22:32

Ordered !

miri1985 · 14/09/2023 22:36

Was commenting it was #7 on the charts but then saw someone else had said the same above.

Anyway can't wait to read it and fair play to the publishers for being brave

WallaceinAnderland · 14/09/2023 22:41

May need to buy another copy for a friend....

Hell, buy one for your neighbours. Or a teacher xmas gift.

Kindle edition is available at £9.59 also out on 12 October

TLDRfuckers · 14/09/2023 22:44

Ordered! Well-played glinner.

as someone who knew Graham Norton before he was famous, I’ve been so disappointed for the way he’s dissed glinner and women’s rights/safety/privacy in general. GN knows his own mum is a bloody woman! But it’s more fashionable to go with the crowd and not do your own critical independent thinking.

And dara o’ brien, what a thoroughly spineless disappointment you are. No golden bridge for you!.

Good on Jonathan Ross and Richard Ayoade.

I will never forget how glinner said in the early days that he couldn’t believe that others couldn’t see this sinister movement for what it is and how perplexed it must have been for this thoroughly decent man to find himself a lone celebrity voice. Losing income and all his industry connections.

Thank you glinner for holding the line and never backing down and shame on the rest of you with “celebrity” “fame” and clout/influence for not doing your own research and speaking up when it really could’ve made a difference.

You cowards!

napody · 14/09/2023 22:50

I'm sure this has been done... but being an awkward sort I think about this sequence probably as often as the average man thinks about the roman empire

Bit late to the party but my order is in too.

Also patiently awaiting the audio version.

Ironically, the sensible truth-loving majority has been forced to become the Bishop Brennans, who have the unmistakeably painful arse, but are point-blank guaranteed that nobody kicked them; and the 10'x10' photo of the kicking in plain sight outside is also all just in their crazy, phobic, bigoted little heads.

FrogSplash · 15/09/2023 00:24

Bloody hell it's at #3 on Amazon in the Top 100. I'm a bit emotional. This brings me home.

Off to preorder the Kindle edition. If it gets to #1 it'll be labelled that way on the listing (and end up as an aside in reviews in the Mail and Telegraph at least).

Not that cancelled then by non meeja Twitterati then...

And from me, and anyone else that wasn't there 'in those early days' and hadn't realised WTF was was going, a massive thanks. Some good people have to stand up for the truth.

Apollo441 · 15/09/2023 00:58

Ordered.
Don't forget to drop into a TRA twitter thread complaining about the book and thank them for the heads up. For some reason it seems to upset them.

Ironically both Richard and Jonathan are labeled "funnymen", yet we can't say the same for the complainants? 😀

RaininginDarling · 15/09/2023 01:28

Very late to the party/thread but delighted to order my first copy. Congrats @glinner you lovely, decent, talented and tall breath of fresh air. And hooray to JR and RA - I was very surprised and pleased to see their quotes. Well done, lads

Can’t wait for the Guardian review.

“A brilliant rollicking tale heavy with laugh out loud moments wrapped around compelling messages about silencing those who disagree and protecting women’s rights that will give you deep pause for thought. Don’t you dare buy it or you’ll go straight to the Gulag.”
