Tough Crowd, due out 12 October. I’m delighted to see this. He is such a good writer and has sacrificed so much in defence of women’s rights and reality itself. Hope it’s a smash hit.

I didn't realise Richard Ayoade had a few books out. That might be something to read while we wait for Glinner's release date.

The Running Grave, the new Robert Galbraith, is out in a week or two, and at 900 pages, that will keep us busy for a while.

I've bought from the publisher's website. I buy tons of books but rarely buy hardbacks, not sure I've bought any since Terry Pratchett died actually. Always bought his in hardback immediately. Really looking forward to reading this. Great to see it jumping up the bestseller lists so fast.

It's very interesting how, if you search in Twitter for 'glinner', it returns 8 suggestions, and if you search for 'graham linehan', you get 7 suggestions (some may be duplicated across both of these) - but they all appear to be parody/mocking/fake accounts and not one of them is the actual one.

Is it just how my Twitter is set up, or is this the same for everybody? So much for Musk wanting to get rid of the fakes and purify the integrity of it.

Isn't it also fascinating how, considering how the TRAs view Glinner, and they 'know' that they are so much smarter than he is... would you not think they'd be keen to let his own 'poisonous' words spread far and wide, without them deliberately obscuring him on Twitter. Maybe they know something that they aren't letting on...

kathy Burke is nowhere near as edgy as she likes to think. Swearing a lot and speaking in a cockney accent might be terribly ‘out there’ to the Tarquins that run TV but she’s now she’s as establishment as the rest of them

Going to be honest i only zipped through the thread to see if that tweet had been posted.

What have I missed? I've got to clear my photos it won't let me screenshot without deleting things. I'm Fairly sure I've still got all the repeal the gra screenshots from the start of the year I might go delete them!

Sorry to put a slight dampener on this excellent thread but I pre-ordered the book last night about five minutes after Glinner sent out the email to subscribers and my email order said "Order #6283 confirmed".
So it didn't start at zero.
Still impressive numbers though, can't wait to read the book!

If anyone's looking for something to read in the interim, I can highly recommend Simon Edge's The End Of The World is Flat and In The Beginning. A cunningly-disguised retelling of the Terf Wars: The Forstater Years. Both from Eye Books.

Would make a great TV series/play if Simon and Glinner were to collaborate on it.

I’ve not purchased a book for years but will be getting this one

question is how do I buy this book without getting a subscription? I can’t afford that

i always buy direct from artist so they get the most money but without a subscription my only alternative is Amazon or the like, unless someone tells me otherwise?

You don't need a subscription if you buy directly from the publisher, I think that'll see most of the money go where it belongs too.

Hmm, I pre-ordered from Amazon, but now I'm thinking it would have been better to buy directly from the publisher - does anyone know if he gets a bigger cut from someone buying it that way? I've heard Amazon is a bit stingey.

May need to buy another copy for a friend....
