None of the women here are the 'fascists' you are angry with. Why aren't you away getting aggressive with them?

Because women are an easy target. And women who refuse to shut up and sit down make some men very angry indeed...

Ereshkigalangcleg · 16/09/2023 16:30

And the event was for everyone. It's an open mic for women, and even men if time is left at the end.

Or because I use mumsnet regularly and came across the thread?

Flounder2022 · 16/09/2023 16:32

Oh sorry @ArabeIIaScott I must have missed the explanation of why it is acceptable to stand with the likes O'Keefe, Pepper and Lahive.

I know, I know.

It's tedious.

Did the event go well, was everyone safe and okay? I'm always anxious when there's big groups getting aggressive and - by the sounds of it - other local groups breenging in and causing chaos.

It shouldn't be this difficult for women to speak in public.

Again, I have no idea who you're talking about.

"And you will get old too"

Hopefully my old self will have better things to do than worry about what people have between their legs or their sexuality.

You really don't get it. Women don't give a shit about anyone's sexuality. And the only time they give a shit about what's between anyone's legs is when the male possessors (or male previous possessors) of in between legs apparatus stray into their sex designated spaces.

If you could, y'know, stick to that simple thing, you could go back to your kindergarten level analysis of the world, unbothered by GC women.

Ereshkigalangcleg · 16/09/2023 16:36

I have no idea who those people are. Whether I "stand with them" depends on the context, really.

I'll stand with whoever is willing to allow us to speak out about this nonsense. And I won't be shamed about it thanks very much.

All the so called left wing politicians and media outlets are refusing to talk about the realities of gender ideology and it's impact on women, the cowards. So whoever we are left with will have to do. Do I agree with everything they say, of course not - I don't think there's a person in the world who I agree with everything on.

But the shameful silence in Irish media about GRC and Barbie Kardashian and gender ideology being taught in schools is bullshit. So I applaud anyone for having the guts to talk about it.

Why do you stand with Barbie Kardashian and Isla Bryson, out of interest?

Ereshkigalangcleg · 16/09/2023 16:39

Kellie-Jay will have been invited by women local to Dublin/other parts of Ireland. It's an open mic. No one controls who stands in the public spaces to listen. Nor can they.

@ArabeIIaScott I don't. But I do stand for any person to be treated humanely if incarcerated - or anywhere else. And that would include those who burnt out migrants recently in Dublin if they were jailed for their crimes. But I wouldn't invite them to stand beside me and I wouldn't say I didn't care what else they stood for just because they agreed with me on one issue.

Waitwhat23 · 16/09/2023 16:53

It's very upsetting to hear that the TRA's shouted, screamed and played 'Murder on the Dancefloor' as women bravely spoke about sexual abuse they had suffered.

It's not that hard to see who at the event was hateful.

Who invited who to stand by who?

This was an open event wasn't it, where anyone can attend?

Have people completely forgotten about the concept of an open event? Where anyone can attend?

BlessedKali · 16/09/2023 16:57

People have to come together and discuss ideas. Even when the ideas are wrong. We can agree on one thing, and disagree on another. Hopefully with good-faith discussions we can change minds and help people improve each-other's ideas.

What is not going to help is this weird, I DONT AGREE WITH THEM SO DON'T TALK TO THEM. Or, I don't agree with them, so don't talk NEAR them, or before and after them....

Life is far more complex and nuanced and just ostracising people based on their other views is not helpful. It's childlike, like in a playground when someone points at another child and goes 'EWWWW dont play with THEM' and then the whole group of kids runs away.'

We're adults, we are talking about complicated matters, we need to all be able to talk together, we need to be able to be wrong about certain things, and we need to be able to discuss everything.

We cannot simply ostracise people because we don't like their beliefs or opinions.

But what is there to talk about with people who burn homeless migrants out of their tents, who have histories of violence against women, who oppose reproductive rights for women? Do you really think you can talk them, reason them out of that mindset?

Are you including fascist views in this?

Woman2023 · 16/09/2023 16:21

Someone's not up to date with anti-terf rhetoric, at these events all terfs are called fascist.

x.com/shanedanbyrne/status/1703005354945036753?s=46

That’s … a lot of flags.

Has anyone enlightened the thread to whom these fascists may be?
The ones with all the flags perhaps? Trying to make people with completely sane opinions regarding biological sex shut up?

BlessedKali · 16/09/2023 17:06

Yes, I am including facsist views. Facism is an ideology, a philosophy, it is not within someones DNA, inbuilt into their biology (except maybe psycopathy). It can be discussed with rationality. It maybe even fascist in itself to believe you are inherently above facism, or someone with facsist views is absiolutely and irreversibly below you.

  1. who exactly is the person that spoke, that burnt homeless people in their tents? who is that person and where is the evidence, because that is a HUGE claim to make, and it requires evidential back up.

  2. YES, I do believe these people can and should be spoken to, to be debated with, to be reasoned with. They exist, so we as a society need to deal with them, to rectify the situation. Unless you are suggesting to burn them in their tents... in which case, how are you any different from them?

Who are these people you're referring to? And were they there to listen to, speak at or protest against the event?
