KJK suing Australian Liberals for defamation

UK women’s rights activist Kellie-Jay Keen has issued John Pesutto and his entire leadership team with defamation concerns notices
UK women’s rights activist Kellie-Jay Keen has issued John Pesutto’s entire Victorian Liberal leadership team with defamation concerns notices, giving them 28 days to apologise and pay compensation for making “grossly misconceived, wilfully vexatious, and wretchedly false” claims, or face federal court action.

In her legal letter sent to the Liberal leader, his deputy David Southwick, upper house leader Georgie Crozier and her deputy Matt Bach on Monday, Ms Keen claims their conduct has seen her become the target of “extreme hate, abuse, harassment, and stalking”, and culminated in her “being physically attacked” and “placed in life threatening danger” at a Let Women Speak rally in New Zealand.

NB Reminder Australian Liberals are actually politically somewhat like UK Tories.

Good. It's beyond ridiculous that women have to constantly resort to the courts in order to get treated with any kind of normal respect.

Many men (and women unfortunately) in power seem to be under the impression that the sexism they have in their heads can be blindly meted out to women everywhere.

I also hope that every news outlet has to print/offer an apology as well. They are STILL referring to KJK as “anti-transgender campaigner” and worse.

Great stuff. I'm not always the greatest fan of her "style" (I feel the same about the amazing Glinner) but she is much needed voice, amongst a much needed blend of different styles, and a phenomenal woman who uses her directness to achieve some important steps forward. As well as to raise awareness of the issues and lift up other women so that they have a platform from which to do the same.

Totally agree re the significance of a win (🤞🙏) on this one. One to watch very closely.

And we all know the lies they've told, it's a matter of public record. The only way she won't win is if the laws over there deem it ok to lie about women because they're standing up for women's rights / the judge perverts justice. I.e only if women don't really have any rights.

I wonder if we'll see some retraction of articles on the back of this.

So glad KJK is doing this - it's about time that the utter lies so many (including wikipedia I note) write and say about her are challenged.

I note as far as wikipedia goes she's gone from 'anti-transgender' to 'anti-transgender' and 'she self describes as a women's rights activist'. Not good enough - it's still defamation to call her anti-trans and I'm going to point out the bloody massive elephant in the room: apparently self ID is only for men as far as wikipedia is concerned then?

Sometimes I think KJK should self ID as a man just to fuck with them.

She along with others in 'man Friday' changed their passports and or driving licence to male aaaages ago.
Far as I know none have changed back.
