I'm hugely happy the album seems to super popular. This suggests to me that people, even those on the trans ally side, haven't judged her, other than being an artist to spend money on. Only a hardcore have dumped her, but their numbers are small, in inverse proportion to the noise they produce online.
This reminds me a little of JKR. As she negotiated those early firestorms, the TRAs threatened to ruin her HP legacy, warning/ordering young people especially to boycott Hogwarts stuff, the video game. And we were even told Strike should be struck down.
Guess what? She's as popular as ever, amongst the young, and older aficionados.
Maybe Róisín will face down her wall of flack and succeed. Because the hate isn't working so far.
Doesn't let off the record label, gig organisers, and professional Twitter haters.
Another sign these bastards will not grind us down. I'm adamant we're on the cusp of a real sea change in the narrative.
