Could anyone post the full article by Eilis O’Hanlon? I’d love to read it - I love her writing but I gave up on the INDO years ago. I read both Sarah and Tom in the Times this morning- Tom has been supportive of the TRAs in past columns.

We had a little chat about Marti Caine recently, of all people. I suspect the lyrics Eureka on the up-coming album arose from that. 'Eureka' meaning 'I was looking for a subject matter but there it is'

Hopefully, I've given you enough insight to see Roisin for who he actually is and let's call time on those who want her to dance to their tune.. Mainly because she's made it her life's work to get us to dance to hers..

Anyone can identify as a member of her audience but it takes Something More, to actually be a member of her audience.

I think you can support her in this without being a fan of her music particularly. I'd never heard of her before this (sorry) though it turns out I do recognised some of her songs. Still think it's absolutely terrible people are trying to cancel her for being concerned about child health.

I agree - as mush as this is an attack on Roisin personally, it's also an attack on women, generally.

The anti-cancellation push-back in an inclusive enterprise, as cancellation harms everyone.The cancellers insult us by stating that it is just aimed at one person.

Do you think Sinead O Conner shared the same views? I cant help wishing she was here and whether she would've supported Roisin.

Pete Paphides has today tweeted a thread criticising cancel culture - it’s clear he’s talking about what happened to Roisin, although he doesn’t mention her by name. Alex Kapranos from Franz Ferdinand is among those praising the post. Could this encourage more people to show a bit of solidarity, I wonder?

Interesting one. She could surprise you. I remember her refusing to take part in the pile-on on the journalist Kevin Myers when he wrote that awful piece about unmarried mothers because she said she knew what it was like to have the mob after you. But her jumping on the trans bandwagon was predictable because despite superficial appearances Sinead wasn't much of a feminist and didn't have a lot of empathy for or interest in other women. She very much preferred men and TRAs are all about the menz.

Oh please. Let’s not get Sinead involved (God rest her soul) Because no one can predict what she would or wouldn’t have done or said and it’s not fair. Yes, she generously donated her clothes to those born ‘legally’ male’ so they ‘could enjoy being female’ But I always took that as her wanting to make sad people feel happy rather than her having any deep-seated belief that men could become women.

I’d like to think her and Roisin could have had an honest conversation. And I noticed on the news that they interviewed a local young transwoman who was mourning Sinead’s death. Probably Sinead had been kind to them as all of us probably would. That’s why I hate this idea of ‘evil’ TERFs because most of us would instinctively be protective of anyone going through trauma or upset - it’s just the people armed with barbed-wire baseball bats and misogynistic anger that we’re inclined to be less than kind to.

I wonder whether Roisin had watched that footage of the young American child getting a puberty blocker implant injected into them and crying ( I saw it somewhere recently and it was upsetting because the child was about 10 or 11 and was then filmed talking as if they had doubts about actually being a girl)- she was obviously commenting about something she’d seen (on her private Facebook in a private conversation) Such a shame that many aren’t prepared to countenance that she might be supportive of trans people but deeply uncomfortable about children having their lives irretrievably altered by drugs and treatments that they don’t fully understand the repercussions of.

Can we leave the dead out of this? We can't know what they would have said about this.
