Disappointed in Maria McKee (Lone Justice, ‘Show me Heaven’ fame) She’s posted a video on her Instagram expressing her incredulity at Roisin’s comments and believes that she mustn’t have any trans people in her life - which she believes is highly suspect for someone who relies on such a queer fan base. She seems to think that Roisin doesn’t understand how absolutely ‘life saving’ puberty blockers are and how many older trans people are sad that they didn’t have the chance to take them as children. Totally embedded in the world where PBs aren’t questioned and where questioning equals ‘unkindness’. I’m not sure if Maria McKee is non-binary herself - or perhaps has kids who are? I see she supports her friend’s clothing company that makes trans masc/gender non-conforming clothing (look like bog standard ‘unisex’ denim jackets to me?)

The comments on her Instagram are totally supportive of her view and anger and disappointment at Roisin. Lots of cries of letting down the trans community and how Stonewall wouldn’t have happened without them and lots of mention of ‘Cis’ privilege. It’s an insight into the ‘well-meaning’ supporters rather than the spitting-feathers, anime-avatar TRAs commenting on Roisin’s accounts - but the outcome is the same for young people.

Transactivism in the US is pretty much a religious/faith based position so they defend it as such and proselytise with zeal.

@OvaHere This is true - I strongly suspect that democacy in the US is so distorted by Neo-Maosim that the concept of democracy is alien to most influencers, who seem to resort to prejudices, to get by. I don't want them exporting their fkucked-up cultural hang-ups around the globe.

...... and yet, these older trans people managed to live to adulthood without these lifesaving drugs? And probably enjoy a full adult sex life, too, with their fully functioning, fully grown adult bodies?

It doesn't surprise me because Maria McKee is an alphabet person - she identifies as pansexual so there you go, she's already in.

Pansexual to me is part and parcel of the ‘be kind’ movement. It’s a declaration that you would love anyone regardless of their sex or ‘identity’ or ‘sexuality’ - you’re not going to be ‘mean’ and leave anybody out - it’s a declaration of ‘aren’t I a lovely person’. Puts young people in an unenviable position of accepting being ‘hit-on’ by everyone and not being able to say ‘sorry, you’re not my type’ - ewwwww - you’ve got a ‘type’ how very exclusionary!

Of course it can lead to people being inclined to declare themselves asexual because they want a quiet life 😂
