British Army invites male to talk about his 'lived experience' as a woman

The co-chair of the Army Servicewomen's Network tweeted out some photos of a Women in Leadership event yesterday.

Cue many women pointing out the elephant in the room, so to speak, in the last photo of the Lived Experience Panel:

Perhaps a subtle act of protest?

Sounds like he does a lot of these type of events, telling people what it's like to be a 'woman' in the Army:

I've seen that smug expression before on men who know they are taking the piss but are totally sure of getting away with it. It's enraging.

LittleEsme · 10/08/2023 14:59

See, had he gone about his business supporting other trans identifying males, I'd say crack on, all the very best, you do you etc.

But now I just want to say Fuck off.

Fuck Right Off.

Florissante · 10/08/2023 15:04

What they said.

It's called "Duping Delight"

Invites scrutiny of whether that tank’s still got its canon.

But seriously - the lives experience of a trans man. Am sure there are many still hiding sexuality or identity issues and this might well help break down some of the toxicity that can be part of forces experiences. But as a woman? Well it looks ridiculous enough to be perfect sabotage

I think it's the smirk that accompanies the euphoria boner.

Probably. There's certainly something about it that makes me want to wash my hands. Thoroughly!

Good Lord - I had no idea duper’s delight was an actual phenomenon described by psychologists.

RealityFan · 10/08/2023 15:25

Looking forwards to reading about Ukrainian frontline soldiers and generals who've transed.

What? There aren't any? Or the few that there are have been expected to assume roles as per natal birth?

Quelle suprise.

Ditto US armed forces, despite Uncle Joe having no issues with men IDing as women to access women's sport and prisons and addressing Dylan Mulvaney as a woman, all US military personnel are categorised as, and will fight as, how they were born.

In the real world, let's brew a cuppa and listen to this joker.

PuttingDownRoots · 10/08/2023 15:34

I'd love to know how this individual found the wrong shaped body armour (a known problem... it fits men well but not women making it less safe)

Or dealing with periods with no access to a toilet on exercise

Sexual harassment

The having to prove yourself constantly.

TinselAngel · 10/08/2023 15:42

That's a big lass sat on the left.

I am sorry to say I snorted at that photo.

Tallisker · 10/08/2023 16:12

This is so offensive and massively insulting to all of us who actually served and got dicked about because we were female. Lived experience my arse 🤬

ZeldaFighter · 10/08/2023 16:12

I'm sorry to say I wondered if the person at the end on the left had eaten another lass!!!

Sorry, I'm a ⛱️, I know 😞

ZeldaFighter · 10/08/2023 16:13

Also they need to "lady" better - don't sit like that wearing a skirt.

ZeldaFighter · 10/08/2023 16:17

Fucking engaging. I bet that person spent their early years in the Army being "one of the lads" and joining in with the bullying and harassment of female colleagues.

But now they "are" one. So come on, darling, how did you manage your periods on a march? How much time off did you have to give birth and did it affect your fitness or career? Did sexual harassment or sexist bullying hold you back?

Pallisers · 10/08/2023 16:21

Didn't they do the same last year? I seem to remember a Women in the Army thing which featured only a transwoman - it was posted about on here.

Anothernamethesamegame · 10/08/2023 16:26

The fact this person is apparently seeking out these type of spaces/events speaks volumes. A need to be seen and validated as a “woman”, a need to shove “yes I am a woman” at people.

It’s not about living how they feel comfortable it’s about trying to take every space and make sure you access wherever you want regardless of anyone else.

Ereshkigalangcleg · 10/08/2023 16:26

Yes, exactly. It's a dominance display.

loislovesstewie · 10/08/2023 16:32

He has no lived experience as a woman, so I've solved that. I really am going to say something one day.

LittleLegsKeepGoing · 10/08/2023 16:34

Ah yes, lived experiences like more or less being forced to take the combined pill and continuously so that you're not menstruating when on exercise or the pretty much constant sexual harassment from senior staff in training barracks (if you didn't agree to their propositions your life was made hell), or pretty much having to leave the military because you've become a parent and the expectation on mother's is insane vs expectation on father's, or the ill fitting kit that's 'unisex'.

Yes I'm sure that W/O Penny has true lived experience as a woman in the military.

I know!!!! I'm soooo fucking angry!!

Lumpy jumper was probably one of the nicer descriptions. And this prat is telling their womanly experiences. Ahhhhhh

I genuinely want to scream at that twitter post.
