This shows the arrest of a teenage autistic girl by about 5 police officers. From what I can make out it is for a 'hate' crime. She apparently said a police officer was a Lesbian. Her Nan is a lesbian - that police officer is like my Nan.

I cannot comprehend the mindset of these officers.

My goodness. That is very uncomfortable to watch. Why were there so many police officers present?

WhiteFire · 09/08/2023 21:13

It comes as no surprise that it is West Yorkshire Police Force.

Dinopawus · 09/08/2023 21:15

Fucking hell that doesn't look good

RainyWeekend · 09/08/2023 21:21

Jesus Christ!! I have a brother, brother-in-law, sister and 2 good mates who are police.

So am not always impartial in anti-police threads.

But this is off the fucking scale!!

I hope every single one of them is sacked.

I hope their families see it and are ashamed of them.

You're a disgrace!!

HagoftheNorth · 09/08/2023 21:24

OMG have the police force/commissioner made any comment (not on Twitter). This is awful

WhiteFire · 09/08/2023 21:24

I've watched it now, absolutely distressing, the young person was in a meltdown and they were dragging her around, no doubt claiming she was resisting arrest.

"She's autistic" "I don't care" sums up everything wrong with WYP, a rotten apple turns the whole barrel rotten.

SunSeeking · 09/08/2023 21:25

What is wrong with Yorkshire police? Ever since covid they've had such bars press for going way over the top. Who is actually in charge over there? These things normally come from the top.

PronounssheRa · 09/08/2023 21:26

It's an awful watch. When the police officer is informed that the girl has autism the officers response is 'I don't care'.

ArabeIIaScott · 09/08/2023 21:29

Every fucking last one of them should be ashamed. Idiots.

Soubriquet · 09/08/2023 21:29

I really hope there is more to this story because as it stands its absolute bullshit.

How dare the police who is supposed to be a trusted service, arrest a teenage girl who has autism simply because she called her a lesbian. Then even pull her by her shoulders when it was explained she had scoliosis

SunSeeking · 09/08/2023 21:31

The greater the power, the greater the abuse.

PronounssheRa · 09/08/2023 21:35

On the face of it, its a great example of inclusion training/ brainwashing the police have and how some groups have an elevated position over others. A perceived slight on the LGBT++++ they go in mob handed. But they literally dont care about disability, they said so themselves Slow handicap.

Mousehoel · 09/08/2023 21:35

Holy fuck this is awful!
No wonder the police aren’t trusted any more!

It doesn’t sound like she was being homophobic at all.

Moonberri · 09/08/2023 21:37

"Inclusive" only includes men who dress up as women or dogs. Not children with disabilities.

Moonberri · 09/08/2023 21:39

The police being inclusive of men dressed as dogs in gimp masks

Yet more police idiocy.
WanderingWitches · 09/08/2023 21:42

That was really upsetting to watch. The girl was clearly in meltdown, the way she was screaming at hitting herself.
When they dragged her arms and she was screaming in pain, it made me cry. That woman copper just stood there with a smug look on her face.

Whatsnewpussyhat · 09/08/2023 21:47

What the fuck have I just watched.

That blonde police woman. Did you see her facial expressions? Wow.
One giant power trip with it all directed at a disabled child. Zero fucking empathy.

Why don't they go out and catch some actual criminals instead of taking offence at the most pathetic things. 7 officers to deal with a harmless comment off a child. Absurd.

I don't know any woman, whether they were a lesbian or not, who would've been offended by what that child said.
Even if clarification was needed, they could've simply listened to what the mum was saying and used some fucking common sense.

NecessaryScene · 09/08/2023 21:49

This is the logical end consequence of all "identity"-based "hate" legislation or HR rules.

Once you have an approved "identity", anyone referring to it in any way can be accused of "hate"; and you can wield it yourself as justification for anything you want to do - anyone suggesting that your "identity" doesn't give you a pass can be accused of "hate" for that suggestion.

If two people in a situation have "identities" then there's a sort of hierarchical caste system - some identities clearly trump others. Those without "identities" are the lowest caste.

In this case "lesbian" clearly beats "autistic", but it would lose hard to "trans".

Boiledbeetle · 09/08/2023 21:54

I can't watch it a second time.

What the Fucking fuck did they think they were Fucking doing! Aren't they supposed to de escalate these sorts of situations not make it so much bloody worse!

FuckNuggets · 09/08/2023 21:55

Saw this earlier and it's bloody awful! At the end that almost glee on the blonde officer's face is horrible. She's a nasty piece of work! The poor mum says "She's autistic!" And the blonde officer says, "I don't care!" 😮

Snowypeaks · 09/08/2023 21:56

I don't even understand how the girl's comment was supposed to be homophobic. It might be factually incorrect but it is not a homophobic insult. Am I being dense? She didn't use a rude word. At worst, it's an inappropriately personal remark.

And how offended could you be by something like this, what with being a police officer? They must hear the foulest of language. As PPs have said, I really hope there is more to this than meets the eye, because if not it's a terrifying abuse of police power.

Angelwings77 · 09/08/2023 22:07

The blonde is obviously a nasty power tripping twat, I accept you are always going to get narcissistic ego driven people attracted to the police service but to see it and hear her absolute disregard for an autistic child! She needs sacking immediately and the other officers should be reprimanded. I’ve lost any trust I’ve ever had in the police, they’ll get nothing but contempt from me now.

AmbleInAnnBoleyn · 09/08/2023 22:11

God this is awful, that poor girl. Stony faced cop doesn't care that she is autistic and is having a meltdown. So wrong.

Janie143 · 09/08/2023 22:19

This is truly shocking. Mob handed against a child
