virgin active changing room policy

Does anyone know Virgin Active's policy for changing rooms? There was a "woman" displaying male genitals while changing in the women's this morning. Women's, not family. I'll be honest, I didn't feel comfortable getting undressed. Before I'm accused of staring, it was hard to miss as the person was right where you come out of the showers.

VA aren't going to care are they?

Omce you decide a man is a woman, voyeurism and indecent exposure stop being crimes.

I asked one of the politicians, I forget which one, on a web chat, what were women supposed to do if a man was in their changing room, one foot on the bench, moisturising his thighs, and trying to make eye contact.

The question, of course, was ignored.

He could equally be trying to make contact with a child in there, of course.

it really is quite extraordinary how this evidently criminal scenario is being pushed through.

"you might think he's a woman, but be clear there's a man under that skirt"

@BeverlyBrook that is really interesting after my interaction with them in 2020.
Would you mind asking them to put it in writing, and asking head office to confirm.
When I did, the manager of my gym agreed with me but asked head office to confirm who said it was the law to allow men in there if they wanted to flash their penis at my daughters.

You know what, I will. Let's see what transpires eh

A huge part of the problem is language.

These days the terms 'man', 'woman', 'male', 'female', 'sex', 'gender' have different meanings to different people.

And many people - especially the older generations - think a trans woman is a female who dresses as a man.

re: chromosomes etc - I certainly agree with you when it comes to women's sports and so on, but a man who's had 'full surgery' in a female dressing room is to me very, very different to one who's not had anything done at all.

Not according to medieval authorities of the church in Paris, who insisted that the scholar Peter Abelard, after he had been subjected to non-consentual full surgery, should never be in the presence of his lover Heloise again, because he could engage in sexual activities with her.
I wouldn't trust a man who voluntarily went through castration and then appeared in the women's changing room further than I could push him. And I couldn't use the self defence moves my Dad learned in the army, and taught me, because he no longer had the place the moves started.

I’ve met so many people who think the same and not just older generations, I’ve had discussions with work colleagues in their 30s who were convinced that a transwoman is ‘a woman who reckons they’re a bloke.’ I really wonder how much this misunderstanding of the terminology skews opinion polls.

I would applaud anyone who marched out of the changing room and loudly declared that there was a flashing male in the female space, but given past stories about just these scenarios, be prepared that YOU would be the one ejected and banned from the gym/pool.
For being a bigot.......or something.

Can you imagine the balls (pun intended) it takes for these men to go ahead and expose their genitals in front of a room of women and girls? Every time I try to think what must be going through their heads, I just can't. Are they so far down the gender rabbit hole that they genuinely see their penis as a "lady penis" that won't cause a deep seated reaction from a female who is forced to see it?
Males getting naked in front of other males in gyms and changing rooms is one thing and something that most makes will have done at some point, but to do that same thing in a room full of women who YOU KNOW are going to notice and have a visceral reaction to it, is quite another.

Just how the ever loving hell do they think they have a right to distress people like this?
And how the fuck have we got to this point?

Just today I read a news article that says NHS staff have been warned not to show "sympathy" with women who complain about males in their spaces. They are not allowed to engage with the idea that it might be offensive, scary, unsettling or worrisome for women.
Gaslighting to the max and selling women's dignity and safety down the river for the benefit of some men.

I've said it before and I'll say it again.
Bring on the asteroid.

We must repeal the GRA - the fact that this is a topic of uncertainty is appalling
