Not sure this is the ‘win’ India thinks it is

India was delighted on Twitter that the hospital band India was wearing said ‘female’.

I hope for India’s sake that India’s doctors understand biology and should India need a transfusion of blood that India does not receive blood from a female who has previously been pregnant.

How can you not know what a cervix is? Did India not doing any biology at school? If I didn't have a very woke employer who might take a dim view of it, I'd reply to one of India's tweets and ask how their first smear test went...

As for mental health issues, I thought the WHO had decreed that gender dysmorphia isn't a mental health issue (not sure what it is, in that case, especially in confused teens).

India was ‘confused’ last year because JK Rowling invited a couple of gender non conforming lesbians to lunch, but not India.

Apparently it was impossible to understand what it was about Angela & Lianne that made them women while India wasn’t one.

Not only is India not the sharpest knife in the cutlery drawer, India isn't the sharpest knife in the fork section.

Backstreets · 19/07/2023 17:23

The way he talks about women is mental. Truly.

India has a very fixed idea of what a woman should look like, they are currently making fun of a woman standing for the Mayor of London by posting a very unflattering (in India’s opinion) photograph of them . Some people, with better qualifications in Psychology 101 than me might think this strange obsession with how women look only goes to underline India’s own insecurity about the way he presents to the world.

Kilopascal · 19/07/2023 17:49

Willoughby? The one who was blethering on, years ago, on Woman's Hour about how as a man he would never have shaved his legs, but it was 'fair enough' that women should do it as otherwise they were unclean?

That one has some very bizarre ideas about women. And legs.

popebishop · 19/07/2023 17:58

This is jealousy. India desperately wants to be female, and tries to present in a stereotypically feminine way (dresses, makeup, long hair etc). So it’s infuriating for India when gender non-conforming women are seen as being in the real woman “club” while India isn’t. This is what India doesn’t understand. Womanhood is not about how long your hair is, or whether you shaved your legs or put lipstick on this morning or a nice floaty dress. It’s about your biology, pure and simple.

A butch woman in men’s clothing with a crew cut and no makeup is infinitely more womanly than a glamorous trans woman in a fancy frock can ever dream of being. She’s a woman because of biology, and can dress or present herself however she pleases.

India’s hospital wristband should not have said female, as sex matters in healthcare. It should have said, for India’s safety, Sex: M. Gender identity: F. Then at least India gets the right medical treatment as a member of the male sex class, while acknowledging that this differs to India’s gender identity and preferred pronouns.

SinnerBoy · 19/07/2023 18:58

What a nasty, vituperative piece of work is Willoughby. What a fantasist.

They can't understand why JKR didn't invite they? Really? Would them be similarly bemused if Baroness Falkner didn't invite Timmy Robertson to a lunch?

PermanentTemporary · 19/07/2023 19:27

Tbh what IW is often trying to do is be 'provocative' by taking GC views at what they consider to be face value and trying to hoist us with our own petard. But since they don't consider GC views to be at all valid and don't spend any time considering what they actually are, they end up tweeting something that makes no sense at all. Like the JKR tweet (well, that particular one) - it only makes sense if you believe that GC people think that being feminine and straight is what makes you a woman. Which is just... a bit thick.

waterlego · 19/07/2023 20:02

India doesn’t come across as very bright.

Or very happy. I read a lot about ‘trans joy’ and gender euphoria these days. India has gone to quite some lengths to transition so it’s a shame it doesn’t seem to have brought India any joy. The jealousy is always palpable. Because IW knows what everyone else knows- that there is only one way to be a woman and that you either are or aren’t.

SabrinaThwaite · 19/07/2023 20:16

I see Gary Turner has now turned up with his “sex is complicated” schtick.

No Gary, it really isn’t.

SabrinaThwaite · 19/07/2023 20:28

Oh, and now Kathleen Stock is a “cross dresser”.

FFS.

I’m no one important on this agenda and have tweeted nothing - about anything. I followed someone that I expect IW rejects and I’m suddenly also blocked from seeing IW’s Twitter. I think IW’s Twitter was already set to followers only so I couldn’t’ve commented so I fail to see what was achieved by this. I think IW needs to retire from public comment asap for IW’s own well-being.

JayAlfredPrufrock · 19/07/2023 21:12

Windy Illerrby is thick as pig shit and should retire from public life. How he gets invited onto Question Time is a bleeding mystery.

Oh hang on. No it’s not.

IW had to back pedal over the migrant comment, the 'nowhere without woke' racist comment and the phobia of drag queen comments. IW's record of being on the right side of history is sketchy to say the least.

Was it the demented, or that someone loved them that got reported?

That was a pretty mild post IMO, but you’ve obviously been found guilty of Wrongthink.

Gcfemale · 19/07/2023 21:35

Yes I must be guilty of having concerns about how IW come across in the media.

It’s not a disease ‘India’ it’s an understanding of biology.

I hope it is a disease, a very very infectious one, with no natural immunity, no vaccine and no cure. Bring it on, I will be out and about tomorrow breathing out my terfy GC germs as far and wide as I can.
