Not sure this is the ‘win’ India thinks it is

India was delighted on Twitter that the hospital band India was wearing said ‘female’.

I hope for India’s sake that India’s doctors understand biology and should India need a transfusion of blood that India does not receive blood from a female who has previously been pregnant.

What information is being covered by all of that pink red tape on the wrist band?

RebelliousCow · 18/07/2023 07:02

I can see a fake tan line......

This is why transition should simply be viewed as self harm. Anyone who thinks altering MEDICAL records is a good thing is clearly suicidal. This is not kind. Jind doesn't mean say what someone wants to hear. It means telling the truth even if its the hardest thing to say and/or listen to.

It can't be good or healthy to spend your life having to fight everyone's perception of you - or of having an identity that hinges on such fragile foundations.

Yes people can have blood from someone who has had children. What the OP is half talking about is blood plasma from XX (regardless of pregnancy) which isn't really used for anyone as it's has a higher likelihood of containing antibodies to the recipients red cells. UK plasma is XY sourced as they don't get exposed to foreign tissue in the form of foetus.

In that case it seems to be irrelevant to this issue?

Froodwithatowel · 18/07/2023 08:22

This is a person that is really not well, and I'm always deeply uncomfortable about them being in the public eye. But if these sorts of fantasy statements are going to be made, then the speaker gives the general public two choices: how far are you prepared to indulge and enable me in this fantasy because you're a nice person who doesn't want to upset me or cause a fuss? And how far are you prepared to engage in mad lying when you know it will be exploited to the nth degree, not just to enable one unhappy and unwell person, but used to take other people's rights and realities away and oppress and subordinate an entire sex class?

A subordination that actually the fantasist never has to worry about because they knew as well as everyone else that their fantasy has nice safe boundaries and it isn't real with the real issues they're happy to inflict on those they identify as?

That's the point I'm afraid it doesn't matter how sad and upset reality makes a person: I'm not going to take the script they hand me, or play their game. Any more than if they insisted I pretend they were Napoleon or Galadriel.

Martina Navratilova has committed terrible crimes against woman-genderness; she is not conventionally pretty/feminine (whilst still being very clearly female), and crucially she genuinely doesn't give a fuck.

See also Prof Stock; causing confusion and outrage by being a short-haired woman in trousers sitting confidently on a chair.

India's wristband just proves that nurses, whilst taking no shit, also cannot be arsed to deal with disruptive individuals because they have better things to do than reassure India about how pretty and feminine India is. If it means slapping the wrong wristband on 'em, fine. The right sex will be obvious on the notes.

Ah, India...always taking L's for the cause.

“An alternative explanation could be a difference in iron status between ever-pregnant female and male donors. Some studies also report differences in red blood cell physiology between the sexes.^

Hmm. So he thinks he's got female anatomy, but he hasn't got female blood. And even though he swears that taking oestrogen has turned all his cells female (although no biologist is aware of any mechanism by which a hormone can metamorphose a Y chromosome into an X chromosome) his blood is decidedly still 100% male.

You know, on account of erythrocytes stubbornly and transphobically refusing to contain chromosomes.

Even body cells are transphobic!!!

The way that Willoughby talks about women that disagree with them is so misogynistic. It is really worrisome to think that there is a child soaking up that attitude towards people out there.

Helleofabore · 18/07/2023 11:38

I refer to calling women 'bitter, dry, old bags' as Willoughby did the other day. I believe it was aimed at Sharron Davies and I even think that Dr Emma Hilton got one too.

Emma got “What a miserable way to spend a life, consumed by hate, cruelty and cats”.

Is being consumed by cats a thing now?

Seems a bit ailurophobic to me.

If India heaven forbid should develop prostate issues in the future what will India do? Would India acknowledge her male body and seek the appropriate treatment or would India continue with the delusional thinking that India is more female than biologically born females?

It would be a female prostate, though. More female than other females’ prostates, too.

<mind blown>

How many of us have had men call us 'frigid' when we did not immediately do exactly as he wanted and expected?

Same old same old. #theservicehumansarerevolting

IW is urging someone to sue. Wouldn't that be great. Would love to see this tested in court and also to see IW's tweets exposed to all. Sorry for quality, sent to me via photo, not screenshot but still currently on IW's twitter.

That's really interesting about the blood transfusion. Thanks for teaching me.
