I have no idea whether this person has any sort of disorder - only that this person’s misogyny seems to be at a dangerous level.

if WHO say being trans is not a mental health condition then I can’t explain why peer reviewed papers say this population has a higher prevalence of cluster B disorders than usual. Nor, I expect, can they.

PorcelinaV · 21/08/2023 23:05

I came across this source:

https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC1117753/

As a result of his severe personality disorder, said the judge, Brady had eschewed the weighing up of information and the balancing of risks and needs. So doctors were legally empowered to supply medical treatment in his best interests.

Force feeding of Ian Brady declared lawful

ColinTheGenderMinotaur · 22/08/2023 00:07

A big difference between Brady and SJB’s situations is that at the time of that ruling, Brady was in a secure hospital, rather than a prison.

If you are held in Ashworth, you are ‘sectioned’ and thus can be given medical treatment against your will.

Brady petitioned to be transferred to prison because he believed it would give him the right to reject force feeding, something he could not do while detained in a secure hospital.

This article refers to schizoid psychosis and reports that he had hallucinations:

I don't believe for one second that Baker is on food refusal. Maybe they just identify as a food refuser, while scarfing down the chip butties?

You joke, but there was a hunger strike a few years ago at a posh US college and the strikers still ate. It was ‘symbolic’ apparently.

PinkCherryBlossoms · 23/08/2023 11:07

All seems to have gone quiet. Wonder if the 'strike' is still happening?

To be fair to the guy, if he is willing to remove his own balls, I can see him doing a few days of a hunger strike.

IwantToRetire · 23/08/2023 16:05

Wasn't there meant to be another court appearance yesterday? I seem to remember this is what was said after the last hearing when he didn't turn up.

From a post at the time: Next hearing 22 August. But Court case still 31st

Have googled and didn't get back any info.

Maybe there is something happening on 27th? In Sheffield?

From twitter:

Sheffield Radical Pride
Emergency Protest: Free Sarah Jane Baker
27/8/23 - 1PM Snig Hill Police Station
Don't forget to bring water and wear a face covering - bringing friends and/or placards would also be great

Why do they love their “face coverings” so much? Why do they need to hide their faces? Protest is legal.

They're frightened that a bunch of middle-aged Mumsnetters will see their pictures, hunt them down and assault them with rolling pins. Because everyone knows that when it comes to a contest between young men at the peak of their physical fitness and a load of mums with pelvic floor issues, it's never going to be a fair fight.

They're scared their mums will see them on TV and tell them off.

This post was from a week ago. Not sure if the dates are still correct.

'The crown prosecution service wanted to add another charge. Something like 'encouraging people to commit a summary offence' i.e. encouraging people to punch terfs in the face.

This is what's called an 'incohate' offence meaning it is a criminal offence which has not yet been committed.

Sarah needs to be in court to hear the charge & give a plea (which will be not guilty).

This additional charge is not likely to change much - the arguments/evidence are pretty much the same.

So they've scheduled an extra court date:

22nd August, 10am - Westminster Magistrates Court.

This will be the plea hearing and we will be rallying again outside court to support Sarah.

The trial itself is still scheduled for 31st August, 10am City of London magistrates court.'

That is a direct copy and paste, btw. I can spell inchoate.

Boiledbeetle · 24/08/2023 19:54

Sobs at the injustice at not being able to look at and support SJB via the medium of Instagram.

Meh! I'll get over it.

IwantToRetire · 31/08/2023 16:24

WtF???????? So if it is a "stunt" you can say anything. You mean some man could go all out for publicity and encourage men to rape women walking alone.

I'm so angry I cant even beging to think clearly.

And article is behind paywall so cant see details.

The trans mob is going to go wild.

Wankers rule okay.

OP posts:
Myalternate · 31/08/2023 16:24

Hmmm…
According to the article it suggests that the trans person be held in a (male) prison till next March, unless I’ve read it wrong 😑

BezMills · 31/08/2023 16:25

So is this person once again released on license, or are they still in for breaching their conditions?

IwantToRetire · 31/08/2023 16:29

Sorry can read the article - too irrate to concentrate.

So now we know the law does not protect women.

Baker, of Richmond, was cleared of encouraging the commission of a criminal offence. A second allegation of causing harassment, alarm or distress was dropped before the trial.

And yet women who are not egging on huge groups can get a non hate hate crime conviction for posting on Xtwitter women are biological females.

Thanks a lot Deputy Chief Magistrate Tan Ikram, my faith in the paternalistic "justice" system is not restored.

Fine words do not make a fine arbitor of Justice - https://www.lawsociety.org.uk/career-advice/career-development/judicial-careers/case-studies/case-study-tan-ikram

OP posts:
Myalternate · 31/08/2023 16:31

It is understood she will not be released after today’s verdict, but will have to wait for a parole hearign which may not be until March next year.

They claim not to have showered for two months and have been subjected to inappropriate touching and name calling. 🤔

AlisonDonut · 31/08/2023 16:32

Can you imagine if a woman got a megaphone and said 'punch a (redacted, rhymes with canny)', the speed the cops would run to arrest her?

They had to arrest him under protest for fucks sake.

Rightsraptor · 31/08/2023 16:33

Miscarriage of justice.

I know the name Tan Ikram (magistrate) - has he got form?

Still, on the plus side, in the unlikely event of any of us being up before the beak for threatening violence to the MRAs, we'll have a ready-made defence courtesy of 'Sarah Jane'.

BezMills · 31/08/2023 16:35

Oh Barker hasn't got parole hearing until March? Oh dear what a pity never mind.

MavisMcMinty · 31/08/2023 16:41

Yes, that’s a very long time to not eat or wash. Pity the cellmates.
