They are beautiful pyjamas & I am suitably in awe of your ✨fancy✨ MNing attire.

I am in much less fancy kids Harry Potter ones. I mean they’re mine, I haven’t mugged a child for their PJs. I also have Harry Potter linen on my bed so I am pretending to be at Hogwarts because that seems like a reasonable, sensible & mature thing to do.

When actual women did this to get the vote, they were force-fed. Bet this guy won't be. It's like men's bodily autonomy is valued more highly by the prison authorities.

I don’t think the UK allows for force feeding prisoners nowadays, not without first going to court re: mental capacity anyway?

I think many users of this board are boycotting M&S due to their policy of allowing - nay, welcoming - men to use the women's changing rooms. That, plus they allow reviews of women's underwear to stand on their website that are posted - ostensibly by males with fetishes - despite complaints. Apparently there is evidence on social media of men posing in, and leaving bodily fluids in, women's underwear in M&S stores then putting them back out on display.

I don't know the answer to that, but maybe we should be able to force feed prisoners to make sure that they do their sentence?

Please remember that force feeding was a tactic used against the suffragettes. Do we really want to allow the repulsive Sarah Jane Baker to claim to be in any way like them?

I don't believe for one second that Baker is on food refusal. Maybe they just identify as a food refuser, while scarfing down the chip butties?

I don't have any opinion on that. This person is in jail for a reason and they are in the male estate for a reason. That being, maleness.
Prisoners on starvation protests are a very difficult situation - to balance duty of care vs respecting bodily autonomy.
I honestly hope this person doesn't come to harm, eitherby their own actions, or of those with a duty of care towards them.

At least now, on the few occasions when forced feeding does happen, it’s a hospital-type procedure (via a nasal tube or drip) rather than metal gag and raw eggs forced down via a funnel.

No. Bodily autonomy should be paramount, even for prisoners.

And being trans isn’t a mental illness, according to the WHO, so there isn’t a need to do that to someone with capacity:

SJB claims to have been diagnosed with a PD but like many men who say they are women, SJB is an unreliable narrator.

Having a PD doesn’t mean anything in regards to capacity though, they aren’t considered to be a mental illness

The history of self harm while incarcerated might be relevant but if cutting your own balls off doesn’t get you a transfer to the female estate I can’t see how refusing to eat will work.
