Well yes it will be if they start operating on them & giving them medication to make them transition to what animal they identify as.

TRAs have a motive for wanting people to believe this is all made up and "manufactured outrage". It's another form of #nodebate. When you juxtapose identifying as the opposite sex with identifying as an animal it brings up uncomfortable truths about magical thinking and the inherent logical fallacy of gender ideology.

It's not that long ago that we wouldn't be allowed to discuss this on an open forum. The era of #nodebate is finished.

If you can find anyone operating on children to make them into the animal they identify as I will admit you have a point.

I actually think that yes, if you are saying to your child ‘yes darling, you are a cat and I shall treat you in any way that you would like your catself to be treated’ then that is child abuse.
Our job as parents is to raise our children and help them prepare for the real world. If we pander to their every whim then what the hell do they do when they go on to the streets and realise that not everyone agrees that they are a cat? Not to mention the effect on their mental health.

I agree with @Flickersy . Of course this would be absurd. This is exactly why the newspapers are making up these stories, to make "the left" look deranged and absurd.

This is just an example, but I have seen so many headlines talking about "furries" in connection to this issue. Any journalist who had bothered to do even a 5 second google would know that furries do not identify as literal animals. Furries are exclusively into anthropomorphised animals, typically cartoon-style. These journalists are not lazy, they're getting a rise out of us on purpose, by feeding us falsehoods.

OP, you asked me why we should take trans kids seriously, but not cat kids. I actually think that both the left and the right have massively failed trans kids by taking them too seriously. I do not think that they should be operated on. Perhaps if we had all been less quick to jump on news reports and getting outraged over boys wearing dresses even though they're not literally girls, there wouldn't be so many operations on kids today.

The key difference here, which you have failed to grasp, is that this is an adult and he chose to do it to himself.

Just to re-iterate @Flickersy 's point: of course it matters if this stuff is really happening, and it matters a great deal if national newspapers are purposefully duping us for their own gains.

But I don't get why trans kids are not just as absurd as trans cats? You cannot change the body you are born into because our sex is fundamentally part of us right down to a cellular level?

@Flickersy how do you know for certain it's all lies and no children at all are identifying as cats or other non-human beings?

Even five years ago if you read about men literally believing they are women and society agreeing that they should be entitled to encroach on women's rape centres, hospital wards, toilets, changing facilities, naked spas etc (even convicted sex offenders) you might think it was made up or exaggerated. And people being fired from their jobs for refusing to call a boy a girl or for believing in biology. Women being investigated by the police for saying that men aren't women. All of this stuff seems unbelievable when you first hear about it but here we are. Living in a world of the Emperor's New Clothes where people are in fear of targeted violence for refusing to believe in a magical ideology.

The cat child will be pandered to because there is no money to be made so it's fine "they will grow out of it"..
Trans kids aren't given that opportunity to grow out of it & change identify again. Once they are captured they are medicated, mutilated & castrated. Why has this been allowed happen to them?

When I was a teenager I'd have gone to school in furry ears and meowed if I thought it would piss off a few teachers. That is what teenagers do. I've also walked a cat on a harness without ever thinking my cat is a a dog. In fact I know a - shock horror - fully grown woman who regularly walks her cat through the parks. Yet strangely I can find no S*n/Daily Mail headlines about the scandal of middle aged women pretending their cats are dogs.

That's not all that it's about. War is peace. Freedom is slavery. Ignorance is strength. Men are women.

But you grew out of it. Why aren't trans children given the chance to grow out of how they are currently feeling before giving them life alternating drugs & mutilation surgeries.
What is the difference between a boy identifying as a cat or a boy identifying as a girl?

I haven't said "no children at all are identifying as cats etc". I literally said in one of my first posts on this thread: kids do dumb shit.

What I do not believe and what I have seen zero evidence of is that it is a) widescale or b) causing serious problems.

I would bet my house that the newspapers have found one or two outlying cases and have decided to grotesquely exaggerate.

I feel sorry and worried for the kids in school who are simply boys and girls and do not follow any of this trend. They must feel like they are in a mental health unit not a school . This must be causing them so much harm , they are surrounded by it .

You really truly believe the kids who don't pretend to be animals are a minority?
