I would just point out that the Farms has plenty of GC women on it as well. Comparisons between GC Women and the Farms as separate categories is not quite accurate. Though I think it can be meaningfully contrasted in some harder to define difference in approach and attitude. That's really what I felt the picture I found on there helped convey. This one too.
I guess what I'm really getting at is the notion that KF fundraiser has been so successful because the money isn't divided amongst as many good causes. I'm one of the early funders of Reduxx as well (and continue to be). I couldn't say how many other demands Farmers have on their cash but then the Farms isn't political, has never been meant to be, isn't even a campaigning site. It's just the peanut gallery of the Internet. Only in Clown World, the performers get to sue the audience for laughing.
So you're probably right in the sense of the communities themselves due to the different emphasis. But of the individuals actually contributing, who knows? I think a big part of the success is that Jersh has just set out a simple achievable goal and given a lot of people tired of being maligned a chance to speak back in a way they can be heard. You can see from all the posts along the lines of "I don't have much money but I managed to send $10" that people really want to give to this. They're enjoying it.
Anyway, no grand point to make. Just that it is moving.
