Front row seat on the seemingly eternal battle between Jersh (aka Suzi Quatro's Fat Nan) and his Merry Band of Farmers against the Transpowered Forces of Internet Censorship.

I’ve just looked and they’ve managed to raise nearly $130000 so far. I don’t think that counts mail orders or whatever it’s called when you send money via post.

It warms my cold dead heart to see people from various different backgrounds with very different points of view in many things come together to stand up for each other‘s right to say stupid shit online.

nothingcomestonothing · 04/02/2024 12:25

I did enjoy the KF post which said something like:

KF: you should sue!
Jersh: yeah and who's going to pay for that, you??
KF: YES

I hope if nothing else this shows Jersh (and his detractors ) that he does have a lot of support, not just keyboard warriors edgelording but genuinely, people putting their money where their mouth is.

I haven't got anywhere near the end of that thread yet, even cheating after a while and hitting the "Next Highlight" button!

It struck me that we wims always have so many crowdfunders on the go for GC/Women's Rights court cases that the most common and average donation is always £25 and it takes ages to hit the target.

It's a huge amount when they are all added up but the funds are still spread thin. Someone was keeping a tally - Sex Matters? Glinner? Can anyone remember? It was a staggering total.

Meanwhile, over on the Farms, although there are people saying things like, "I'm in the third world, I can only give $5", they are far outnumbered by guys slamming big bucks Kerching! into the till! The Right to Gossip on the Internet - championed by blokes!

Maybe KF and Mumsnet are not so much distorted, fairground mirrors of each other but are at either ends of one of those "Horseshoe Theory" things, not political but gossipy? Mumsnet is so much more than FWR and KF is so much more than the Boards that the TRAs hate with a passion. We've got that in common, a mutual enemy that would gleefully destroy the whole kit and caboodle just to eradicate the small part that they hate.

Just spotted this (from Saturday)
783 donations, averaging $147.51, totaling $115,499.00

KF, like Reddit and Twitter, is not really my thing so I only glance occasionally and only when it is accessible to tech-numpties. Rather than browse I tend to use the search feature, most recently to try to make sense of the Caroline Farrow saga. Last time, a couple of months, ago I spotted a thread about KF achievements. There was very little about TRAs, but instead stuff about Farmers working together to identify an animal abuser in Australia, and from memory, a paedophile in Cuba.

But no KF is bad so needs to be stopped. In the same way that JKR and Graham Lineham are bad. No chance of shades of grey. Judgement has been made.

Yes I saw a 'look at all this good stuff we've done ' post a few months ago - KF has been instrumental in providing evidence used to prosecute child abusers, animal abusers and more. But you will never hear about that, because in the approved narrative it's a hate site full of Nazis.

My DC once asked me what KF was whilst trying to read over my shoulder, my response (obviously) was it's not for children. So they asked Alexa 'what is kiwi farms?'. And Alexa said it's a hate site which harasses and doxes people Hmm

DevilinaCardigan · 05/02/2024 20:17

I’ve learned a lot on KF especially how young men feel in society right now and it’s helped me understand my preteen son better.

im also pleasantly surprised by the large donations. I guess farmers aren’t all unemployed incels living in their mums basements.

I'm pretty sure that for at least some KF's enemies, getting rid of evidence that can help prosecute paedophiles is a feature not a bug.

Defamation in the internet age: could a $400,000 Australian court ruling silence the notorious online forum Kiwi Farms?

An Australian company that helped the website remain accessible has been ordered to pay damages – but the legal arguments remain unsettled

And has Fong Jones faced any consequences to the illegal DDOS attacks that FJ and FJ's co-conspirators have made on a completely legal website? Or made any amends for harassing any company which provides internet services to said completely legal website, including phoning the wife of someone who worked at one of those companies in the night? Or not?

TownGown · 06/02/2024 00:29

@nothingcomestonothing, if you're going to make accusations please provide evidence.

Bosky · 06/02/2024 06:33

If only there was somewhere on the internet where all that evidence was archived . . .

I don’t trust the guardian on free speech. Do you have it from a reliable source like the daily mail?

(tongue now out of cheek). Go read the threads and make up your own mind about the evidence.

Here you go. They're not hiding what they're doing. And unlike KF, what they're doing is illegal.

Yet from memory this is the animal abuse story that the Farmers were able to bring to identify.

https://www.theguardian.com/australia-news/2023/sep/26/nt-crocodile-expert-who-once-hosted-david-attenborough-pleads-guilty-to-animal-sexual-abuse

Yes and there's quite a lot more. The farmers have provided evidence to stop quite a few animal abusers. They were instrumental in US social services getting involved in a family where a parent with Munchausen by proxy was abusing children with unnecessary medication. They financially supported a transwidow and her children. They fundraised a significant sum for a charity fighting child trafficking, and requested the charity not publicise their involvement so that the charity wasn't harassed for associating with KF.

KF is full of people I don't agree with, but I think the only thing which ties farmers together is being pro free speech, and anti child and animal abuse. What a bunch of evil Nazis eh?

Stalking, harassment, malicious communications, doxxing and false accusations of rape are all crimes in Britain. A provider hosting kiwifarms had to pay out a large sum of money because of the false accusations.

Your link is paywalled, but the headline says it's a stalker website. Even the links you choose say that.

TownGown · 06/02/2024 09:38

A kiwifarms host being sued is a good start, but it's too bad the police don't trace and charge those who keep falsely accusing her of rape.

Needmoresleep · 06/02/2024 09:46

There you go....
https://archive.is/eapyw

No need to rely on headlines. And obviously there will be plenty of counter views of keffals and Fong Jones.

Again my memory is that the WP writer is not considered the most neutral. The article at least illustrates the crazy extent of the battle to keep a website open. On a personal level why do you think you have the right to prevent me accessing a site which, despite all the allegations, has not been found guilty. Reading headlines alone is not enough.

Access it all you want, but if you're falsely accusing gay and trans people of rape you should be charged.

TownGown · 06/02/2024 09:49

"accessing a site which, despite all the allegations, has not been found guilty."

A provider which formerly hosted kiwfarms was sued for a lot of money, because of a large number of FALSE ACCUSATIONS OF RAPE made on it.

Needmoresleep · 06/02/2024 09:58

With due respect. You want to stop me reading KF. I don't often, but was glad it was there for Caroline Farrow who, if you bothered to follow the story, was neither trans nor gay but was being accused of all sorts of things over a very long period.

Judging from your posts, and I think you will agree, you do not come across as the most intelligent of people. Yet somehow you come onto a woman's site to argue that a site that protects women should not exist. Time to go back to Reddit/TwiX where you will have lots of friends.

What about a provider that hosted someone making false allegations that KF hosted child sex abuse images? Musk better be worried.

Wasn't she under investigation and had her computer equipment seized because of allegedly stalking a trans woman (including doxxing her and making a threat of arson) and allegedly threatening to shoot police on kiwifarms under an anonymous name if they entered her home again? I heard about that on Twitter.

Needmoresleep · 06/02/2024 10:10

I heard about that on Twitter.

Which is why we need KF.
