The new British Cycling policy goes public at 11am tomorrow. Anyone dare to speculate on the outcome? Will it be a win for women?

It’s a good day for women. And by that I mean adult female humans of course.

And the happy voters are attempting to stage a comeback.

It's like the Eurovision Song Contest on bicycles.

All that hyperbole; Rwanda, cycling so white, oil, etc. none of it would have mattered to EB if the decision had gone the otherwise.

If that's truly what EB thinks about cycling EB should have wanted nothing to do with it anyway. Unless...<clutches pearls>...unless EB is a massive hypocrite.

On Bridges' complaint:

Cycling is mostly straight and white in the UK because the majority of people in all countries are straight and because Britain has a white majority.

If the percentages of straight and white people in cycling in the UK are higher than their percentages in the overall population, British Cycling should look into the reasons for that and correct all within its power, to be more inclusive.

But having a straight and white male cyclist transition into a transgender Lesbian isn't one of those ways, in my opinion. If it were, we could fix all discrimination by people just self-identifying into and out of various demographic groups.

Trouble is - that poll is far from clear.

"Annoyed" - lots of "annoyed", but are they annoyed because those tantalising trans minxes are "banned from the sport they love", or are they annoyed as I am - because it doesn't go far enough and they can still compete at grassroots level?

Answers on a postcard please . . .

I have never given cycling a single second's attention, because sport in all its hues is beyond boring. But even a sport-hater like me thinks it is good that women are not having to compete against men.

This is the thing I have long since been unable to work out. Why - WHY - does any criticism translate as "We want you dead"?

It was explained to me:
It plays into the anti-trans narrative so reinforces the hatred of those who would be violent against trans people because it helps them to feel vindicated, and also increases the feelings of despair and doubt afflicting transitioners, especially young ones, and may tip them over the edge. And because all of this is apparently as obvious to the mother viper as it is that someone running with a sharp stick could fall and poke their eye out ("Stop running with that sharp stick! Or are you trying to poke your eye out?"), the mother viper should realise that believing and saying the bad things she does about gender =/= sex is equivalent to wanting people to die.

Someone told me the other day what a "Terf" is. I am not a "terf", but I am a woman. Men are not women.

The thing to remember with that poll is that it’s in The Pink News. Not the any old newspaper or website, but an LGBT newspaper. So the fact that it’s even anything close to 50/50 is amazing.
