Another 'piss' protest at the EHRC from trans rights activists

Seems this is the same 'POT' group as last year - 'Pissed off Ts'

https://www.instagram.com/p/CsitvEOqMQl/

'Following the EHRC’s guidance to alter the Equality Act to only protect on the basis of ‘biological sex’ P.O.T. have staged our second piss zap on the Equality and Human Rights Commission offices.

We placed 90 litres of trans piss outside the building and in their revolving doors, rendering the EHRC more explicitly what it already was: an inaccessible mess. Pouring piss is an anarchist act of resistance that stakes an urgent and lingering claim on our basic human rights. It foregrounds the public embarrassment we experience as targets of the media and the state, and that we in turn also experience when we are forcibly prohibited from single sex spaces such as restrooms. IF YOU TAKE AWAY OUR TOILETS WE’LL MAKE ONE OF YOUR DOORSTEP. Our zaps are pungent proof in the noses of our oppressors that you cannot rinse us from the record or legislate us out of existence. We are here and we need to piss.

In this zap we also played a re-enacted transcript of the EHRC’s meeting with LGBTQIA+ representatives out of a speaker trapped in a bottle of piss. This transcript found in full via @transactualuk demonstrates the EHRC’s incompetence and cowardice as a National Human Rights Institution, as they evade and fumble through vital questions like ‘what is biological sex?’.

BIO SEX ISN’T BINARY

YOU CANNOT CLEANSE US FROM EXISTENCE

THE EHRC HAS BLOOD ON ITS HANDS AND PISS IN ITS STREETS'

The best I can think of so far is born with a penis or vagina.
Sex based spaces separated by genitalia. As silly as this sounds I think it would piss off the TRAs enormously, so thats good.

There’s something especially narcissistic about people who were born into privilege but also want to claim rights associated with being oppressed. It’s a bit much 🤷‍♀️
i don’t think their class is nothing

Privileged people, pushing lies about their supposed oppression, sometimes result in genuinely underprivileged people suffering because the focus is taken away from what’s actually important and who really needs help.

Ironically, they are showing exactly why single sex spaces are a legal necessity

Belcher: How do you expect me to do my work in Parliament if I cannot use women’s facilities? … That’s a really basic element of human rights and the proposal seems to me to demand that I am openly identifiable as trans in any interaction with public services. So how does that square with my right to privacy?

That is such a tell isn't it? Admitting that the use of women's facilities is ALL about validation.

Mate, you're already openly identifiable as trans.

It's as if they think nobody would have a clue.

identifyingasmrblobbytoday · 23/05/2023 20:21

GailBlancheViola · 23/05/2023 14:01

Or is Belcher saying that a third space would identify Belcher as trans? I'm sure plenty of people are very happy to use a mixed sex, all gender space - we get plenty of allies on here saying they won't mind doing so. All the 'you can pee next to me' people.

Ah but they are the wrong sort of women, they want to pee with the ones who don't want to share spaces with them not those that do. Power and control that is what it is, thanks for confirming that Belcher.

Exactly

Yes. It helps everyone understand why they shouldn't be using women's spaces.

EmmelinePankhurstWeNeedYouNow · 23/05/2023 20:49

Personally, I hope they keep up with this campaign ‘strategy’. It really proves why we don’t want males in female spaces.

And it has nothing to do with jealousy about not being able to accurately pee into a bottle. 😂

But seriously, it’s a disgusting form of protest. The nature of which should be lost on no one.

JellySaurus · 23/05/2023 21:52

Why is there no mention of this anywhere? Googling brings up only this thread, and lots of stuff from last year's piss-take.

Boiledbeetle · 23/05/2023 23:50

@JellySaurus Bing is no better. You get the daily mail article then an article by vice from last year!

ArabeIIaScott · 24/05/2023 07:59

Unfortunately it seems not much traction for this piss protest. I wonder if it's just too distasteful to put on the news?

I suspect so. Also, there is nothing imminent (in news terms) that it links to. The debate in parliament is just too far away.
However, I'm sure the EHRC staff will have told politicians about it. I would hope that it incentivises any who were ambivalent to turn up and take part.

ScrollingLeaves · 24/05/2023 18:22

It was not even on the World at One where they were talking about the EHRC (about 36 minutes in).

They are unlikely to put this on the news as it shows trans activists in a bad light.

ArabeIIaScott · 24/05/2023 18:23

Must be frustrating for the activists who were hoping to make a splash.

It is such a disgusting thing to do, no one would believe it.

dcbc1234 · 26/05/2023 17:00

The Telegraph has referenced this piss protest in their article on EHRC today. Apparently the police had to do a controlled explosion on it!

Indeed - let's hope it doesn't escalate to a shit show.... <<I'll go get my coat>>

(Note: interestingly I don't think they have considered that DNA testing of bodily excretions would definitely sex them. Funny that....trying to make an argument by leaving proof of it being literally piss poor).

that might have been lost on them!

Yes, it is very funny that they don’t seem to have seen what that protest confirmed.

RealityFan · 02/06/2023 09:47

It's come to something where you get your tackle out but cover up your face.

Then again, who a decade ago thought that whole swathes of elites (im)polite society wouldn't even bat an eyelid at this kind of behaviour, indeed be implicitly in agreement with our spraying tomcats' aims and beliefs?

I think they do and I don't think they care, it's a dominance display.

Yes. It suggests there's enough self awareness and basic sense to worry about the consequences of being recognised in doing this.

But not enough to put said tackle away and try behaving like they're ready to graduate from toddlers to preschool.

I'm increasingly wondering if the answer to this is public funded rainbow creches. Lots of computer games, nappies, pandery females to care take, furry outfits and paint to throw around. They can all have a lovely time in there being themselves and the rest of us can crack on in peace.

You saw the notice at Oxford Uni for our poor beleaguered TRA students mortally wounded by the words of Kath Stock?

Provision of bust cards (whatever the fuck those are?), free PlayStation, sleeping bags, ear defenders etc.

And best of all...free locker space. Obviously for masks, derogatory worded placards, copies of Judith Butler and Eddie Izzard books.
