Just posting this as on a thread elsewhere I made some disparaging remarks that the debate will be shuffled off to some small committee room.

But they must think that more than a few MPs are wanting to take part as I have just seen it will be in Westminster Hall.

Will be interesting to see which MPs are willing to state views about the reality of biological sex in public!

Event will be broadcast live.

Thank you to the NHS Confederation (or whatever they're called) for their exquisite timing, like Isla Bryson.

100%. Perfect illustration, perfect timing.

I agree - well said

SabrinaThwaite · 12/06/2023 19:16

Firth - clearly explaining how service providers are put in a very difficult position when it comes to the single sex exceptions.

Anna Firth up now, I think. Conservative

Yes stood against Rosie in Canterbury last election, And at a hustings at a University spoke about Canterbury's four Universities (there are three) and tried to tell academics at the hosting University that they were wrong (the other 'university' is in fact a language school). 😂

Glad she's making more sense today!

ArabeIIaScott · 12/06/2023 19:17

Fallon Fox 'that was a man'. Yes. Thank you.

ArabeIIaScott · 12/06/2023 19:17

Oh, god. Mhairi Black. Can I just say not all Scottish women are this bad?

chilling19 · 12/06/2023 19:17

I think that the tide has turned but the TWAW just haven't caught up with this.

Buffypaws · 12/06/2023 19:19

This woman is an absolute bore

ArabeIIaScott · 12/06/2023 19:19

Thick as mince, I'm afraid.

MrsOvertonsWindow · 12/06/2023 19:19

How can Kirsty Blackman make a speech like that and think it's OK?

As others have said, the difference in quality / knowledge / facts etc between the mainly Tory MPs with some excellent speeches versus the emotive rambling contributions from labour is embarrassing.

Boiledbeetle · 12/06/2023 19:20

im surprised she can see the words on that page considering she cant see a frigging sign right by her head

chilling19 · 12/06/2023 19:20

Kirsten Oswald is the Scottish National Party MP for East Renfrewshire

Changeling78 · 12/06/2023 19:20

Let’s hear about women’s rights…..but not those ones…

SabrinaThwaite · 12/06/2023 19:20

Oh lordy, she’s asking for a bill for women’s employment rights but can’t actually define a woman.

SunnyEgg · 12/06/2023 19:20

So this woman SNP keep as is, no change

When asked directly face to face by someone they have to encounter day to day, share a workplace with, women have agreed with Robin.

On an anonymous forum where nobody is beholden to Robin, women are able to be more honest.

Women are not happy to share with males. We're scared. Of getting sacked, or attacked, or both.

I am a long way behind on this thread, but this is why I have quite often said on here that women do need to speak out in real life. Women need to be honest and open with employers, friends, family, and it is not good enough to rely on others to do so. Because that gives the other side the massive opportunity to say "well no-one said anything". Integrity is far deeper than honesty. I know that I have lost friends over this ridiculous situation and I work in education. But this issue is so important. Anyway - off to read the rest of the posts!

chilling19 · 12/06/2023 19:21

This isn't about trans - it is about women.

BiliousOhGod · 12/06/2023 19:21

And how can she tell the difference between predators and non-predatory men?? Before they prove they're predators, obviously...
