Just posting this as on a thread elsewhere I made some disparaging remarks that the debate will be shuffled off to some small committee room.

But they must think that more than a few MPs are wanting to take part as I have just seen it will be in Westminster Hall.

Will be interesting to see which MPs are willing to state views about the reality of biological sex in public!

Event will be broadcast live.

PB inviting people to read Helen Joyce 'Trans' and Kathleen Stock 'Material Girls' and defies them to find those views transphobic.

Peter Bottomley - supporting Joyce and Stock. He publically stood up for Stock when she was bullied out of Sussex Uni.

Great

ACatCalledPushka · 12/06/2023 17:52

Loving PB's tie!

ArabeIIaScott · 12/06/2023 17:53

Only one idiot so far - Angela Eagle's execrable dismissal of women's concerns.

RubyTrees · 12/06/2023 17:53

I'm really enjoying this!

eurochick · 12/06/2023 17:53

I was not expecting that from JP.

Her point about the other bill not mentioning women illustrates very well the kind of muddle we are in and the fear of mentioning women in the current climate.

ACatCalledPushka · 12/06/2023 17:53

Great that PB has brought sport up.

Anyone else notice that the MPs agreeing with the clarification of the equality act have all mentioned that they have compassion for Trans People but the TWAW MPs have not mentioned women and girls at all?

same as it ever was!

SabrinaThwaite · 12/06/2023 17:54

PB - sports, prisons, hospitals, personal care, sex matters.

Boiledbeetle · 12/06/2023 17:54

RD up

I'm really enjoying this!

Much better than I thought it would be

Some good clear speaking (not from TWAW lot though)

ACatCalledPushka · 12/06/2023 17:54

Nice swipe landed on Layla Moran!

chilling19 · 12/06/2023 17:54

Rosie! ❤️

ArabeIIaScott · 12/06/2023 17:54

Rosie on the abuse women have had over this

Catiette · 12/06/2023 17:55

It's such a relief to hear it all laid out so clearly.

ACatCalledPushka · 12/06/2023 17:55

❤Rosie. Messaged her yesterday about the debate and she responded with a lovely message.

DialSquare · 12/06/2023 17:55

I can feel the tantrums building in certain quarters minute by minute!

Boiledbeetle · 12/06/2023 17:55

I just want to hug Rosie when I see her

ArabeIIaScott · 12/06/2023 17:55

❤Rosie.

xabia · 12/06/2023 17:55

Omg Jessssss yessssss!

Tippingadvice · 12/06/2023 17:55

Just catching up go Jess Phillips - procurement include single sex spaces.

FatAgainItsLettuceTime · 12/06/2023 17:56

ArabeIIaScott · 12/06/2023 17:46

YES JESSS

Jess was really good. I was so pleased to hear her make clear her views because she's been a bit woolly previously.

BobBobBobbing · 12/06/2023 17:56

Doubt Kate Osborne will be any good- I wrote to her and got a TWAW response. The labour party canvasser backed away down the garden path when I raised it with them.

PronounssheRa · 12/06/2023 17:57

It's wild that Peter Bottomly seems to understand these issues better than Angela Eagle 😳

ArabeIIaScott · 12/06/2023 17:57

FatAgainItsLettuceTime · 12/06/2023 17:56

Jess was really good. I was so pleased to hear her make clear her views because she's been a bit woolly previously.

I like a subtle understatment but Jess Philips has been the floppiest of flipfloppers and the wooliest wooller of all time. Still sinking in that she said clearly that women need single sex spaces.
