Continuation of Thread 3.

There is so much excellent information and so many active discussions on FWR that I wondered if it would be useful to have a thread to sort of "cross-fertilise" between them - airing little thoughts or vignettes that wouldn't themselves merit their own thread, to highlight other posts/threads of particular interest or to point to notable developments on fast-moving threads so that casual observers know where to look.

(For example, "the X thread has meandered onto a fascinating discussion of Y" or "Poster P's amazing analysis on thread Z might have relevance to the scenario in thread W" or "Has anybody noticed this recurring theme that keeps coming up??" or even "Random bloke asked me to smile while I was choosing onions, grr"- that sort of thing).

IIRC, we have seen this thread before many times, both on MN FWR and in the Old Place. But it's so good that I feel it deserves to be reposted every so often:

I have a wonderful scenario in my head beginning along the lines of "We need a DNA sample - could you just touch this door-handle please?" and ending with "That's a fine little boy you have there, Mr Smith. I hope the birth wasn't too traumatic."

Are the kids always this agitated and full of questions? I don't remember it at Christmas but I was still so new I might not have noticed.

The Economist covering the issue (but I suspect in TRSOH dossier they count as Bad Media). The discussion on the thread looks like it is shaping up to be a good one, although I'm not sure whether the thread will be allowed to stand (due to screenshots of the article). I think I shall show my support by purchasing a physical copy of The Economist this week:
