Caba Baba Rave - take your baby to watch nearly naked men in fetish gear

Journalist Dominique Samuels has posted video of one of their events: https://twitter.com/dominiquetaegon/status/1630948003962912768?s=61&t=gd6tu0Iz6JpyKXGLWMLGjg

Which features men gyrating and hanging from the ceiling surrounded by a crowd of clueless women and their babies.

I would say it's NSFW but it's apparently safe for babies so have a watch.

Here's a reddux article:

https://reduxx.info/uk-sold-out-rave-for-babies-featuring-drag-queens-prompts-outrage/

Since the video went viral, the company has taken down its website and Facebook and made their Instagram private. I wonder why? Confused

Perhaps people will stop with the ‘it’s just like panto’ excuses now?

I’ve categorically never seen Christopher Biggins twerking his naked arse cheeks in a suburban production of Mother Goose.

Helleofabore · 03/03/2023 10:28

Or partner.

I believe the two women who own the company are heterosexual from social media reports.

At least one of the organisers is a mum herself... there are no words. So open-minded her brains fell out.

LemonSwan · 03/03/2023 10:53

Tbh whilst I don’t think children over one should go to this, I can’t get worked up about babies. Half of them can’t even see further than a few m until 6 month and then after that likely just mesmerised by the colours and movement rather than the peni in Lycra 🤮

So I think it needs changing from 0-2 to 0-1 and then I would be fine with it.

I figured the two women with babies in their arms in at least one pic, and who feature with microphones and in various performance poses were the owners.

You are fine with 1 year olds seeing a half naked man in fetish gear? Really?

@LemonSwan Would you be ok for your baby's father to go to this, have a beer and see strippers, in the daytime, with your baby?

Why do you think babies + fetish wear + sexualised dancing is a good thing?

Soubriquet · 03/03/2023 11:00

You know what, if they were dressed appropriately, I could see it being fun. Minus the booze.

But bubbles, balls, hoops and parachuting all looks fun.

Skimpy men draping themselves in ropes form the ceiling is not

Soubriquet · 03/03/2023 11:01

Oh and take away the erotic style dancing too

Probably one of these “I’m not like other wives, I’m a COOL wife”

I have a 10 month old and whilst I personally wouldn’t want to see that and wouldn’t be going. I really don’t think my 10 mo is aware of what’s a sexual/ inappropriate act right now IYSWIM. It’s no different to ballet where they are wearing skins except the adult connotations/ kink element which I absolutely wouldn’t want around my child once they start getting more aware of context. But right now my boy doesn’t even realise colours can be sorted into categories let alone outfits/dances.

I would be trying my best not to view a flying penis where I am pretty sure my boy would just be watching a person fly around in the air and that would be mind blowing enough to keep them occupied.

That said can’t they just put some extra pants/clothes on.

Grumblemonster · 03/03/2023 11:03

Sorry, I haven't RTFF yet since that'll take a while and I have limited internet access, but I think it's worth noting that the comparison to taking babies to the cinema so the parent(s) can watch a film that isn't suitable for children is based on a failure to understand child development. Very young children won't follow or engage with a film of any stripe because it's just patterns of coloured light on a screen. It takes a degree of focus to resolve that as a meaningful image and interpret it as a story and babies lack both focus and the inclination to pay attention to a screen. What they are interested in is people. This is people and likely will draw the interest and attention of babies and young children.

NotBadConsidering · 03/03/2023 11:04

It’s not about what a baby might see or remember. It’s about the normalisation of adult sexual behaviour in front of children.

Seriously?? What about when the performers are less than 2m from the baby’s face (which seemed to be quite a lot)?

What about when the 12” stiletto makes contact through a crawling hand (men aren’t always known for their spatial awareness)?

Hosted by Lizzie and Gemma – Two performers turned mums who were constantly looking to be entertained whilst holding a baby in one hand and a pint in the other.

So this is all about Lizzie and Gemma being bored and wanting to drink? What about entertaining their babies?

You know the babies aren't the audience pet. They are the show. Why do you think they aren't offering this performance in front of OAPs?

Helleofabore · 03/03/2023 11:08

"That said can’t they just put some extra pants/clothes on."

Wouldn't that then make it just a 'normal' London experience?

Removing the erotic elements would just make it an acrobatic and dance routine.

And I agree, if the erotic elements were removed, and the performers were dressed in regular performance gear, the babies were not underfoot on blankets while alcohol was being served, or loose under the performers feet, this could be a fun outing.

You are either very naive or a bit dense

FrancescaContini · 03/03/2023 11:11

@Hoppinggreen the latter, surely? Or deliberately provocative?

@Hoppinggreen
Oh yes, this is definitely very MC. If they were swigging cans of Special Brew wearing their see-through Primark leggings and nipping out for a few fags, SS would be called.

One of the benefits to living in the shitty area that I guarantee nothing like this would ever take place here.

They wouldn’t dare because they know how it would go down (thank the lord for working glass “bigots” eh?)

And lol 😂 I can be pretty uncool about a lot of things. Just saying this isn’t a hill I am willing to die on. Much rather concentrate my efforts on single sex spaces and areas where people don’t have a choice whether they wish to engage rather than an optional activity.

Helleofabore · 03/03/2023 11:13

I found the wording of "Hosted by Lizzie and Gemma – Two performers turned mums who were constantly looking to be entertained whilst holding a baby in one hand and a pint in the other." to be rather enlightening.

The 'constantly looking to be entertained' part particularly says a lot.

Yes with a bit of tweaking this could be very cool 😎 and then maybe I would go and be a cool mum and fulfill hoppings dreams for me 🤣

How do you suggest the babies opt out of this optional activity?
