KJK opposing fertility treatment for gay couples

KJK seems to have an ongoing beef with same sex couples having fertility treatment. Why? How is this benefiting women's rights?

Is is definitely not benefiting lesbian rights.

It also appears to be attracting all the homophobes on Twitter.

It does seem the world has gone a bit weird and some people are getting very entitled to a baby.

If anyone, man or woman, wants to become a parent, they need to be nice to a member of the opposite sex, and to have whatever appeal necessary, for someone of the opposite sex to want to ProCreate with them.

There are a lot of straight people, both women and men, who, for whatever reason are unable to find someone to make babies with. I know loads of straight women who are childless because they didn’t find a man to have kids with in good time. Obviously lesbians and gay men have a more complicated situation for finding a member of the opposite sex to ProCreate with.

However.

No woman, straight, bi or lesbian, is entitled to have a man father a child for her.
No man, straight, bi or gay, is entitled to have a woman mother a child for him.

It is not the duty of the State to work around this conundrum for anyone.

CryptoFascistMadameCholet · 22/02/2023 22:52

Where else would one get human sperm from, if not a man?

That weird sperm from skin cell shit has only worked on mice so far.

SapphosRock · 22/02/2023 22:46

Lesbians just need a male partner, they just need a man. Hmmm where have we heard that before 🤔

Well they do need a man to provide sperm.

it’s not immaculate conception

however the sperm is delivered

I used to feel sorry for you sapphos when you wrote about your partner.

no longer. You trolling everyone here

don’t know why you are doing this ?

have you asked kjk yet or you happy getting attention here ?

is this what this is about. Attention seeking

of to bed. Let you crack on with your seeking of attention.

ps. Ask KJK. But you won’t. Too afraid 😧

AlisonDonut · 22/02/2023 22:53

Nobody has the right to extract sperm or eggs from another human and use them to create a new human.

Eyerollcentral · 22/02/2023 22:54

ThrowawayBerna · 22/02/2023 22:47

No, I was wondering what intervention would be made by the NHS in such a case assuming the couple wanted it. Lesbians are not by default infertile, but do need help to conceive. Don't be so emotive yourself.

They need sperm to conceive which comes from a man. To compare that to someone crippled in an accident who is a man in unconscionable. I deal with catastrophically injured men and women in my professional life. It is a disgrace you are using them as a prop in an argument about who is entitled to funding vs two women who want to have a baby. The context is not remotely comparable.

100% correct.

I'm sure Sapphos hopes to put some women off from giving their support.
That's one possibility.

IcakethereforeIam · 22/02/2023 22:59

It's the false teaming again. The far right, iirc, with the previous thread on a SFW when a groupuscle (was that the phrase?) was seen and now with the homophobia, because someone quote tweeted her. This time it tending towards the language of an abuser, 'look what your words made happen'.

beastlyslumber · 22/02/2023 22:59

@SapphosRock You know KJK does a phone in show on Tuesday nights? Why don't you call in and ask her how babies are made? Since you don't seem to believe any of us.

beastlyslumber · 22/02/2023 23:00

Here you go, OP.

Christ, that didn't even occur to me. I just assumed Saphos was posting nonsense due to an attention drought, because the premise is so ludicrous.

We've had men identifying as women on here calling themselves infertile women, because they cant gestate a baby. This is the same level of unhinged bat shit.

FOJN · 22/02/2023 23:09

Is Kelly Jay Keen derangement syndrome a thing or is Sappho's the index case?

Blister · 22/02/2023 23:10

You do realise that there are infertile lesbians out there. Right? Those for who ivf would fail or be impossible? And not all lesbians are infertile?

It's a thing. Sappho has it especially badly, though.

Is it catching, because it seems particularly rife in Brighton?

ZiriForEver · 22/02/2023 23:18

It isn't homophobic to state that a same-sex couple isn't a fertility issue.

It isn't homophobic to be against IUI/IVF for everyone.

I'm against surrogacy, which implies I don't see any good solution for men.

For women, I agree with previous poster that "lacking make partner" shouldn't go to the same pipeline and same statistics as medical fertility issues.

On the other hand, I suppose the society wants more children from parents who really want them. And I'd support any woman (single or in same sex couple) who pass some health checks (to rule out addictions and so on), for some IUI rounds.

Lesbians just need a male partner, they just need a man. Hmmm where have we heard that before 🤔

well considering that's where the bloody sperm comes from what other suggestion that doesnt involve a male at some point in the process do you want?? Immaculate conception? Although wasnt that by a male god?

You need an egg from a WOMAN and sperm from a MAN to make a baby. If you are a lesbian couple who both have the ability to get pregnant then you are fertile. How you choose to get the sperm to your egg is entirely up to you.

But it still isn't a fertility issue. It's a logistics issue.

They need sperm.

Sperm is produced by males.

It's really not difficult to understand.

Boiledbeetle · 22/02/2023 23:27

OK I've checked and I've found the none sperm solution.

Wish I'd known about this in my 20s

Yes. Should the cash strapped NHS really pay for this? We barely have enough money to look after the current population!

ladykale · 22/02/2023 23:35

@SapphosRock it's not a fertility issue though by definition! They should pay privately.

DdraigGoch · 22/02/2023 23:40

CryptoFascistMadameCholet · 22/02/2023 14:20

Ditch it for the straight men too then.

Quite, not having children won't be detrimental to your health like waiting for a hip replacement or cancer treatment. If you want fertility treatment then you should fund it yourself.

IcakethereforeIam · 22/02/2023 23:57

@Boiledbeetle I like your solution. Someone upthread mentioned logistics which got me thinking

Judashascomeintosomemoney · 22/02/2023 23:58

Fucking hell, thought I’d have some pre bedtime light reading but stumbled on this! This thread is insane. Are single women (or men) to be considered infertile if they can’t reproduce alone? Is the OP pissed because right now that’s the only reasonable explanation for these ramblings.

BlessedKali · 23/02/2023 00:11

By the same logic - a single man has a fertility issue and so he should have access to a surrogate to make a baby for him
