KJK opposing fertility treatment for gay couples

SapphosRock · 22/02/2023 14:10

KJK seems to have an ongoing beef with same sex couples having fertility treatment. Why? How is this benefiting women's rights?

Is is definitely not benefiting lesbian rights.

It also appears to be attracting all the homophobes on Twitter.

@SapphosRock so why is lack of spermatozoa in a female partnership a fertility issue? Are you saying all straight single women are also infertile?

JemimaTiggywinkles · 22/02/2023 21:58

Honestly, I can’t believe we now have to point out that biology isn’t homophobic. I’m kind of used to saying biology isn’t transphobic, but this is a whole new level!

Alltheprettyseahorses · 22/02/2023 21:58

I find the OP rather disingenuous.

KJK's tweet is factual. But the quote tweet provided is designed to make the reader think she has espoused that view, a view that I thoroughly disagree with btw. It's extremely leading and dishonest imo.

SapphosRock · 22/02/2023 21:24

Two women will need help from a fertility clinic if they are to procreate.

Claiming this is not a fertility issue is claiming two women who wish to procreate should not be able to access fertility treatment.

This is homophobic.

Honestly the homophobia on this thread is quite shocking.

No they won't, they can do at home insemination. The absence of a man to father your child isn't a medical issue, there's nothing physically wrong with you, you are just missing sperm. You don't need a clinic or medical intervention to get sperm, just a man willing to give you his sperm.

Reproduction is very homophobic, I agree.

Cailleach1 · 22/02/2023 22:14

Yes. It is dishonest. Obviously hoping if mud is thrown, some will stick.

I'm still trying to figure out why (or how) op thinks two healthy, fertile people of the same sex can reproduce and give rise to shared genetic offspring. As it is only when they are 'infertile' that there is a problem.

Them 'Young Earth Creationists' have competition in the anti science stakes.

In think OP is on a wind up too.

No one can be so daft that they think a medical issue which prevents natural conception is the same as a gay/lesbian couple being unable to conceive naturally.

There is no context to the original tweet but it is factually correct. A same sex couple are not infertile because they need the input of a third person of the opposite sex to conceive.

Why is the trad title so dishonest? In the link to KJK YouTube channel, KJK is be very clear that there are certain types of fertility treatment she doesn't agree with, she does not make any reference to this in the context of same sex couples. She doesn't agree with them regardless of someone's sexual orientation.

How did the OP see the retweet? I had a quick look at the account and the person appears to be quite socially conservative and pretty right wing. This is like Hearts of Oak all over again; OP seems far better acquainted with right wingers, who they portray as the devil incarnate, than the rest of us.

I'm torn between thinking OP is a (relapsed) TRA or a hard right Christian fundamentalist, it's really hard to tell. Either way this thread is pure shit stirring propaganda and I'm not sure what the objective is. If OP was intending to make a fool of herself she has succeeded.

Here we go again. Lesbians 'just' need a man willing to give us his sperm.

Why do straight women with an infertile male partner never get told to just find another man and use his sperm?

Posts by gay people unfortunately attract quote tweets from homophobes. It's not their fault, it's not Posie Parker's fault either. What's your point?

Boiledbeetle · 22/02/2023 22:25

SapphosRock · 22/02/2023 21:50

they just need the sperm, not the male

Yes they do. Which makes it a fertility issue!!!

No matter how many times you say it, it doesn't make it true.

Do you ever think of starting a joke book? Women with infertile male partners where attempts at insemination by artificial means DO have to get another male involved I.e. a sperm donor. And yes history and the present day are littered with examples of women who have done just that, isn’t there a statistic that something like 10% of men are raising children they believe are their’s biologically but are not. Lay off the kool aid, if you are for real.

A fertile straight woman partnered with a man who does not produce sperm (or viable sperm) is told exactly that.

The only way for her to get pregnant is using donor sperm.

Sorry ‘have failed’ after ‘means’ was distracted by the lunacy of the OP’s post

ThrowawayBerna · 22/02/2023 22:28

Would it be more accurate to say that for lesbian couples this an 'issue of reproductive mechanics' or WTHE? because its not 'infertility' out the gate at all. Factual medical terminology matters.

I don't have a problem with steps to overcome an issue of reproductive mechanics, as long as the criteria is the same as for infertility* in heterosexual couples. For lesbian couples, 2/3 of the required solution lies within their personal control (mother and egg). For gay men, only 1/3, (father) so all is not equal nor could it be.

*Thinking on about this, what happens when two fertile heterosexuals wish to reproduce but the father's sperm must be surgically collected as he has paraplegia? That is an issue of reproductive mechanics and not infertility, Does the NHS assist in those cases?

No they are a couple with fertility issues due to lack of sperm. A lesbian couple also has fertility issues due to lack of sperm.

According to KJK only the straight couple's fertility issues are valid.

According to this board the lesbian couple just need to find a man to have sex with and lie back and think of England.

They do.... I know someone who is a donor baby, he's 30 now, his (straight) married parents couldn't have a child due to his dad's issue so they used donor sperm. This was over 30 years ago, not a new thing. He's very open about it, it's no secret.

RufustheFloralmissingreindeer · 22/02/2023 22:30

You cant just rock up and steal someones sperm

it has to be given

there’s loads of stuff online about men ‘donating’ sperm

but personally i think if its going to be done it has to be through safe means so clinics and medical facilities, not some random online

but the point is women are absolutely getting sperm from randoms online, and some of these men insist on having sex, thats how desperate some of these women are

Genuinely wondering what point you think you are trying to make here.
