Stylist magazine deleted my comment on IG

So, Stylist magazine posted on their Instagram a post earlier today with the "lovely" Charlie Craggs. It's a new weekly campaign from Strong Women UK (oh, the irony).

I can't copy and paste the post from my phone but then that's not really the point. I wrote a comment along the lines of "Hey Stylist, how about interviewing real women to talk about real women's problems such as endometriosis, domestic violence, discrimination at the workplace at the end of your maternity leave, etc?". I started getting abuse and obviously my comment was deleted. The abuse I was getting was from other women and I cannot understand for the life of me how some women cannot see that lived experience as man is different from a woman's, how insulting it is for that person to be taking the space from a female writer and so many issues stemming from that.

I know it's mostly like a generational divide and I feel so sorry for the women of tomorrow as they will be living in a truly horrible world (for them, obviously, as the patriarchy will reign supreme).

I think womanhood is much more diverse and complex and powerful than being purely about genitalia

The one single thing that links ALL women, throughout the whole world, throughout all time is their biology.

Everything else is personality, accident of birth, upbringing, cultural and religious influences, law, status, etc.

Nothing to do with what women look like, what they wear, what their beliefs are, what race they are. These are not the same throughout the whole word over all time.

ALL women share biology. Yes, there may be sexual development disorders, there may be women without a uterus, etc. but that are not how we are classified. We are classified by our SEX and therefore being a woman IS purely about genitalia (and large gametes), etc.

That's it. That's what a woman is. An adult human female.

Born not worn.

I'm not sure what you mean? My suggestion was that you can't define by any sort of narrow boundaries because people are people and everyone is different

So in your analysis, why do the groups Man and Woman need to exist at all? What's the purpose of them, what value/benefit do they have?

The point is that there no single way! Women are not just their reproductive systems, we are all unique

Yes we’re all unique, but what makes us women is our anatomy. It’s basic, simple science.

Why would you want to be something you hate so much? This is really some fucked up shit.

I've often wondered that.

ArabellaScott · 22/02/2023 13:23

Also OP I hope you're okay, those are some horrible comments. Brew

tackytriceratops · 22/02/2023 13:31

Wow the vile comments there from (I assume?) other women.

And so violent.

this person absolutely LOVES publicity

Why does this person choose a women's mag for this story? Why not a broadsheet? The guardian?

  • The attention from all those women. Attention seeking is part of the condition. Gah, I can't stand fawning.

Women seem to fawn more over these men who think they're women and it makes no sense.

I'm fine thanks Flowers

Despite of having to lock my IG and delete that particular comment I'm fine. However, that will not stop me from posting what I think.

I feel very sorry for teenage girls today who will grow up in a world that is so upside down with their rights being appropriated and spaces being invaded. In a few years time women will be merely rent-a-wombs serving the patriarchy. The useful idiots, aka, trans allies will look back in bewilderment and start questioning where did all go wrong. Gilead and Brave New World are frightfully real and fast approaching

Just to clarify, when I say I deleted my comment, it was the second one that I left asking why the first had been deleted. Stylist removed my first one themselves.

I can't find any of this on IG stylist magazine or cragg's IG.

A post of Charlie supposedly on the front cover but I can't find that on goggle either , nothing in the summer of 2017.

tackytriceratops · 22/02/2023 14:11

Oh from a few days ago. Still can't find the stylist cover of CC online other than IG.

I'm over being involved in this cesspit thread that frankly makes me feel quite sad and ashamed that people who should be comrades are so full of hate - some comments have been very reasonable but sprinkled among them many others which are pathetic, but I don't think those making them will see why for a long time because they're do dead set on hate and convincing themselves that hate it feminist and therefore justified. As another post has added, and as I said in my original post - you can hate, disagree, not accept transpeople are different genders from the ones assigned at birth, but you have to accept the exist because they do, and you don't need to make this existence miserable. Whatever you think of Charlie or transwomen, publicly commenting and calling them out to say they are not worthy of a platform they are using to talk about the most appaling tradjedy that took 72 lives - its really not the time or place. Which is why your comment was deleted. Deal with it, grow up.

Happylittlechicken · 23/02/2023 08:11

@Lilyedem you seem to be the only person spouting hate here. #justsayin

senua · 23/02/2023 08:25

you have to accept [transpeople] exist because they do
Again, misrepresenting our position. Nobody denies that transpeople exist, we can see the evidence of our own eyes. Because we are hot on evidence, logic and rationality.

If you want more empathy try explaining your position! There are multiple questions up above that you (and many other posters like you) have studiously ignored. How are we supposed to understand when debating with you is like trying to knit fog.

This board isn't a Momentum conference.

Ereshkigalangcleg · 23/02/2023 09:56

but you have to accept the exist because they do, and you don't need to make this existence miserable.

Yes, everyone knows they exist. If they are made "miserable" by people choosing not to lie about the reality of biological sex, that's really too bad. None of us get to only be perceived in a way we approve of.

I'd like to perceived as a millionaire, unfortunately my bank account won't let me be so

OP posts:
peanutbuttertoasty · 23/02/2023 10:43

I've been identifying as a millionaire for years but the world just won't validate me. It's #literalviolence

Forfrigz · 23/02/2023 10:57

I identify as female, because I have two x chromosomes. If I wantwd to alter this and were to go into Superdrug and buy Gillette for men and insist everyone calls me Robert, unfortunately I continue to hemmoraghe wildly once every 28 days, and I still get sexually accosted by men in the street. It seems there is a facet of my reality I can't change and I must accept. Oh yes it's quite a major one called biological sex.
