"...officers seized a Samsung mobile phone on which they discovered 84 indecent images in category A - those graded as showing the most serious forms of abuse.

These included pictures and videos showing children aged as young as four being raped. Also found were 30 category B images and 35 in category C, which had been collected since October"

Except of course, the offender, Ketan Shende, is not a woman.

@maddy68
”As horrific as this seems” blah blah minimise minimise…

Yes, what this MAN has done is HORRIFIC.

Don’t you understand the pure RAGE of the women here who have suffered CSA thanks to such perpetrators? The FEAR and REVULSION we women feel on behalf of our own daughters growing up in a world where: a) the most basic fact of the story is so blatantly twisted meaning that the sexual crimes perpetrated against CHILDREN are attributed to a WOMAN and b) nobody in the judiciary seems to give a flying fuck about keeping children safe?

It's not just the press though is it?

I think we must have crimes recorded as by the correct sex.

Otherwise what are they doing? Women very rarely do this kind of thing. It skews data, it's offensive to women and to the victims. What makes them a woman anyway? Nothing.

We need reality at all levels, from the police to the prison service.

The police are meant to be the public, not policy captured behind closed doors.

@BenCoopersSupportWren The male and female prison estates are two separate things - unless you’re suddenly advocating for men to be imprisoned with women just because that’s where the capacity in the prison system is?

There are spaces in women’s prisons, but very very few in men’s. And as we know, men commit more serious offences at a more frequent rate than women, hence the vast pressures on capacity in the male estate. The prison service has recently resorted to renting cells in police stations and paying the police overtime to supervise them as an emergency measure, that’s how little space there is in men’s prisons.

Ffs, would you ever hear yourself! You are defending the fact that women are sent to prison for much lesser crimes because of space and have the fucking cheek to accuse me of wanting to put a man in a women's prison because I complain about the disparity.

Something is really seriously wrong in the UK when such a serious sex offender is allowed free to walk the streets. They might as well take the offense of raping children off the books. Though someone will probably take my saying that as my advocating it.

Yes, as a consumer they are driving demand that causes abusers to abuse. That’s why it’s a crime to merely view, possess, or distribute abuse images. But it’s not the same as actually abusing the children and recording it.

How exactly are the victims abused over and over again just by someone else hundreds of miles away viewing the images of historic abuse? Sorry, but I’m a literal person and this doesn’t make sense, you cannot abuse a person all over again by without their knowledge viewing an image of abuse that happened to them in their past.

If you pay someone to rape a child (or commit any other crime) so you can enjoy watching (or for any other reason), you are morally responsible for that crime. If you pay them after the images have been produced, you are also morally responsible. If you join a group of people who do this, and encourage them by sharing the images, you are also morally responsible.

The continuing use of old images is one factor that continues to drive the trade in child sex abuse.

I'm saddened that you cannot see the connection. A whole industry has grown up to supply the desires of people like the man who was let off scot free.

@Onnabugeisha states they have been abused themselves but fails see that physical abuse and the sharing of that abuse is in the end the same disgusting crime . I find that astonishing !

I wouldn't be sure of anything that poster states about themselves, tbh. There's a comment on this thread that made my stomach turn and I can't imagine someone with the background they claim to have writing that.

I quite agree with this.

I was not defending or condoning it, FFS. I was simply explaining that male and female prisons are two completely separate things when considering capacity. You could release every woman prisoner and it still wouldn’t make much difference to the space needed to house male offenders, because the vast majority of women’s prisons are low security whereas the pressure on male prisons is in the higher security categories.

Yep that was the comment that made me leave the thread 🥺

I think it's the internet. That particular poster has called themselves a female warrior but the posts are generally a bit unsettling.

Absolutely! Sorry for not spotting that you'd been misinterpreted earlier, SupportWren.

I note you have a history of depressive illness, a mixed personality disorder and gender dysphoria. You have also abused alcohol, which seems to have stemmed from an unhappy childhood and emotional trauma as you seek to transition from male to female.

Many people with gender dysphoria may have had traumatic pasts ( including sexual abuse) which they need help in addressing. This is why banning therapy for trans people is so wrong.

In this case they have also basically become a paedophile.

The judge may feel sorry for him but he is unlikely to just get better and is a great danger to children.

This is another example of a man who says they are a woman showing themselves capable, like a minority of all men, of being a criminal.
