Has anyone tried identifying as another thing?

Bear with my thinking here.

If current thinking is that a birth certificate can be altered to change sex, then has any other challenges been considered?

I've genuinely had a hard but reasonably successful life. Been a bloody slog though. I genuinely feel older than my 50 odd years. I really really do feel and believe that.

So could I ask to be considered to be 67 and get my pension and retire?

I'm knackered.

I'm being absolutely genuine here. If there is a precedent to change 'facts' due to feelings then I want this.

Has this ever been approached? Or looked at?

If ever women need a campaign I think this could be one.

I identify as an apache attack helicopter.

Yes it's an old meme joke, but just as day 1 it still is amazing at dismantling the entire gender thing.

NicolaSturgeonsSOGIbottom · 03/02/2023 16:55

I’d like to erase my biological father from my birth certificate.

Rather than leaving it blank, I may as well pick myself a new dad.

But I can’t quite decide between Nigel Havers and John Nettles.

SirChenjins · 03/02/2023 16:57

I’ve tried to identify as 5’ 10” but the high shelves remain out of reach. I can’t think why 🤷‍♀️

TheSpellingGame · 03/02/2023 17:04

I always think of that woman in the US who identified as black who was ostracised when it was revealed she was white.

She was ahead of her time.

I think it's an excellent question.

Establishing a principle, in law, that you can change legal documents which simply records the facts of an event is a really stupid thing to do.

If you can claim to be something you are not then why shouldn't you be able to claim state pension in your 50's? I would like to see a politician answer this.

Yes, I think of her often.

If black people can be offended by that (and rightly so), why can't women be offended by men identifying as women?

I genuinely don't understand.

RogersOrganismicProcess · 03/02/2023 18:21

I would like to identify as someone with an additional pair of hands, or an extra bloody minute in the day. Run ragged I am! Run bloody ragged!

There was a chap, I think in The Netherlands or somewhere in that area, who went to court to try to get his age officially changed as he didn't identify with his chronological age. I'll see if I can find an article.

Also, there are those that engage in "age play" identities, like the delightful Steffonknee whose surname I forget. He's a middle age man who "lives as a 6 year old girl" in his opinion. His pornified sexualised ick idea of what that means of course.

You may need eye bleach if you search for info on him.

Here's the Dutch guy who wanted to officially change his age.

WeBuiltThisBuffetOnSausageRoll · 03/02/2023 18:24

What you are suggesting is absolutely ludicrous.... but no more ludicrous than the current state of affairs.

This is very interesting - the evidently transagephobic Jane Fae taking great offence at being given a taste of Jane's own medicine:

WeBuiltThisBuffetOnSausageRoll · 03/02/2023 18:26

X-posted - the video is well worth a watch, though. Brings a whole new meaning to the phrase "I'm embarrassed for you".

APurpleSquirrel · 03/02/2023 18:26

Pretty sure I've read about people being both trans-age & trans-race before.

APurpleSquirrel · 03/02/2023 18:27

Utter crap of course.

Babdoc · 03/02/2023 18:29

There is currently a trans prisoner who now identifies as a baby. The prison staff have to provide him with dummies and nappies, and he insists they always hold his hand when he is out of his cell.
I wish I were joking.

WeBuiltThisBuffetOnSausageRoll · 03/02/2023 18:29

They're all nothing but different rungs on the same ladder. If you accept the validity of the ladder in the first place, it makes absolutely no logical sense whatsoever - and actually just exposes you as a complete hypocrite, bigot and whateverphobe - to deny the validity of any of the other rungs.

thirtysixpercent · 03/02/2023 18:32

There's a Dutch chap Emile Ratelband who's currently on a legal challenge to identify younger than his biological age. If he wins, you could be in with a shot OP. 😂

CloudPop · 03/02/2023 18:32

From what I understand TWAW don't identify as women per se. As far as they are concerned they actually are women / females in every conceivable way (India Willoughby is clear she is "biologically female"). As a result are confused by why anyone (bigots / haters etc) have any kind of issue with them

SleekMamma · 03/02/2023 18:33

It is all nonsense. The law was set up for some geezers. Very few geezers. And to stop female offspring being allowed to inherit aristocratic titles.
From this flows all the current utter mess. Non sense. It makes no sense, as it was never supposed to.

Dartmoorcheffy · 03/02/2023 18:33

I'm identifying as a sloth. It's a great life.

GroggyLegs · 03/02/2023 18:41

I genuinely feel about 32 inside.

I could demand surgery to validate my true self. I need it to relieve my daily distress at my drooping face and sagging skin.

And Botox would be cheaper for the NHS than daily hormone jabs.

Scout2016 · 03/02/2023 18:42

And this chap identifies as both a woman and disabled

LadyFlumpalot · 03/02/2023 18:44

I'd like to identify as a millionaire. Personally I feel it's very mean of NatWest to not recognise my identity. I know my bank account is fairly empty but that shouldn't stop the bank from accepting that I'm a millionaire and issuing some sort of edict that the shops must accept my Monopoly money as real money as to do otherwise would invalidate my feels.

ArseInTheDogBowl · 03/02/2023 18:46

I identify as a millionaire. NatWest should change the numbers on my bank balance, because I say it's true.

ArseInTheDogBowl · 03/02/2023 18:46

X post @LadyFlumpalot 😂
