Has anyone tried identifying as another thing?

Bear with my thinking here.

If current thinking is that a birth certificate can be altered to change sex, then has any other challenges been considered?

I've genuinely had a hard but reasonably successful life. Been a bloody slog though. I genuinely feel older than my 50 odd years. I really really do feel and believe that.

So could I ask to be considered to be 67 and get my pension and retire?

I'm knackered.

I'm being absolutely genuine here. If there is a precedent to change 'facts' due to feelings then I want this.

Has this ever been approached? Or looked at?

If ever women need a campaign I think this could be one.

Not exactly a cock-up. This saga went on for months before the trial, because permission to transfer it to adult courts was refused. There was a load of guff about Tubbs' immature mind, and not penalising him for not having been caught as a juvenile. It wasn't a bureaucratic mistake, but an ideological decision.

The prosecutor has changed his mind about all that now, after being made privy to recordings of Tubbs exulting that he was going to get away with it. A little bit late!

I know a Russian who had just got her British nationality before Putin invaded Ukraine.

She has changed her name, and has asked people not to let on she comes from Russia. She is British. That is where her loyalties are, and where her future is. She no longer identifies as Russian.

(Sad but understandable.)

They've already had some cases of older transwomen who would have qualified for their pension at 65 (as men), but instead were entitled to it from 60, as a woman of their age would then have been.

What a terrible and sad state of affairs it is, that it's become so easy to find stuff like that totally believable.

Transage identity is an inherent part of who we are, and isn't something that can be "fixed" by simply addressing underlying complexes or traumas.

So the trans age 6 year old girl (actually a woman of 30) in the post at 18.56 was born as a 6 year old and will remain so forever. Presumably this means that they were born weaned and toilet trained, went to school immediately and will never be able to hold down a job but won't be able to apply for unemployment benefit or claim a pension?

Then you ask them to explain why? I'm not suggesting asking in order to get a coherent answer, that would be impossible.

I identify as younger than I am, tbh. I'm 37 but physically I don't really feel older than 30 or so. Unfortunately my birth certificate and a new proliferation of grey hairs disagree 🤷🏼‍♀️

I know a three year old who identifies as a T-Rex. Except on the days he identifies as some other type of dinosaur. Why is he being forced to live in a house? Why is someone not providing him with a primeval forest? A total violation of his rights.

Somebody in the YouTube comments put it very succinctly: basically saying that one [differently-minded] person is telling another person that they aren't allowed to be [differently-minded]!

That example seemed to be applying the having cake and eating it too model of trans. You’d think that trans people would be really pissed off with the people who take that attitude. But seemingly it’s all equally valid. 🙄

I don’t see how you can accept the claims of the biology denying gendered soul group and dismiss the passage of time denying aged soul group. Once you start with the choose your own reality (and then call anyone who doesn’t play along to the - changeable - rules you set) route, I don’t see how you can start throwing stones at people who claim their innate being is at odds with a different aspect of the material world.

Not me, but my child. He identifies as a pirate. His pronouns are Arrr/MeHearties, and we have surgery lined up to remove an eye and a leg in order for him to live as his true self and affirm his pirate identity.
