Has anyone tried identifying as another thing?

Bear with my thinking here.

If current thinking is that a birth certificate can be altered to change sex, then has any other challenges been considered?

I've genuinely had a hard but reasonably successful life. Been a bloody slog though. I genuinely feel older than my 50 odd years. I really really do feel and believe that.

So could I ask to be considered to be 67 and get my pension and retire?

I'm knackered.

I'm being absolutely genuine here. If there is a precedent to change 'facts' due to feelings then I want this.

Has this ever been approached? Or looked at?

If ever women need a campaign I think this could be one.

I would love to change my place of birth on my birth certificate. I was born somewhere else but have lived in the UK for 20 years. I have a visa but it would make my life easier to not have to deal with visas/passports. And a Citizen Recognition Card would be so much cheaper than applying for citizenship.
i identify as British. I drink a lot of tea and don’t talk to people on public transport (I don’t identify as northern). Other than my accent, I pass very well day to day.

Not me, but my child. He identifies as a pirate. His pronouns are Arrr/MeHearties, and we have surgery lined up to remove an eye and a leg in order for him to live as his true self and affirm his pirate identity.

Love this!!

Grin Grin

On another note, I'm very sorry to hear about the recent death of his parrot, but at least it must feel like a weight off his shoulders.

I wonder if some of the celebs who've been having these extreme bum implants and injections are part of the transpirate scene as well; either that or they've completely misunderstood the meaning of "Avast behind!"

@EpicChaos
There are various other sources confirming it wasn’t true, but the article I linked is probably the most thorough look at what happened.

TRAs utterly delighted by Republican politicians having talked it up though as they think it makes the GOP look stupid & that it reinforces the TRA line that any objection to their behaviour or demands is bigotry & part of a Trans Panic that threatens their very lives. Utter refusal to accept the story was in any way even slightly credible, plus insistence that Republicans [bigots/Christofascists/Nazis/transphobes] will say anything about poor innocent trans people who just want to…

I have been saying since Brexit that, as I identify as European, I should be allowed to have my European passport back.

I identify as non-numerary, so don't try to assign an age to me. However, as I'd also like to access my pension now and my knees sometimes hurt a bit, I'm a 'non-numerary pensioner', and you'd better hope any tick boxes that need my age or year of birth have this as an option.

SomeCommonThing · 04/02/2023 12:09

Had this been a thing when I was 23, and the Dr told me I couldn't have a hysterectomy or tubes tied because my "future husband may want children", I'd have identified as a bloke right up until that anaesthesia wore off!

I identify as a cat. At least that's what I put on last job application. Miaou/ Miaow pronouns. They did give me the job too 🤣

Hows the food testing at Felix working out for you?

I often wonder this. What if I (as
a white person) suddenly decided I wanted to identity as black? I could paint my face black and everything. Tell people to call me Beyoncé. Would anyone do it? Would I do it? Like fuck we would. Because it's deeply bloody offensive. How's that any different?

@whistleblown This is where I've always said I struggle with the whole trans debate. For arguments sake I could say that since I was a child I've always identified more with black culture and known deep down I should have been born black. Yet if I were to paint myself darker, or have cosmetic treatments to darken my skin, botox to get fuller lips, surgery to get a 'Beyoncé booty' and changed my name to (insert stereotypical 'black lady name' here) then it would be wholly unacceptable and deemed utterly offensive. Which I agree it would be. So I genuinely can't understand how doing this with someone's sex or gender is any different.
