"That poor transwoman..."

"That raped a woman and now isn't allowed in a women's prison so has no where to go"

What the actual fuck. This was a sentence said to me today at a discussion group I go to. No worry for the poor woman (women?) That was/ were raped. No. Just the rapist who raped.

I pointed out that said transwoman is a man and should therefore be in a men's prison, and was told "no she's not, she's a woman now" at which point I decided to change the topic for this week because it's not the sort of group where we want to have heated discussions.

I'm just shocked and saddened that a woman I like and admire is so happy to throw other women under the bus Sad

if it’s that taxing on you, it’s because it’s bollocks, love. Shouldn’t be that hard to define what a woman is, if you’re so confident in your claims.

Yes - but it is hard because you just believe what you were told to instead of thinking it through to interrogate whether it made any sense.

Feminists and GC people who oppose this harmful bollocks do so because they thought it through and saw that it is nonsense. Not because they're mean, hateful or transphobic. But because they used critical thinking to dismantle a nonsense and they know it will come crashing down, because nonsense has a way of crumbling in the face of reality.

But you can let go of the nonsense and come over to the side of reality and defending protections for actual women. Join us! Lots of others are...

Yes - but it is hard because you just believe what you were told to instead of thinking it through to interrogate whether it made any sense.

I genuinely don't believe that someone with a functioning brain can get to the end of the sentence "there are lots of things that make you a woman" without thinking "I wonder what literally any of them are?". You would have to be the most intellectually incurious, dull-minded drone.

Gender may be complicated (if you believe in it).

Sex however, is not.

Sex segregation is very simple.

And for those looking for clarity from the poster arguing that being a woman is more complicated than sex, you won't get one.
There never IS an answer from them, because they know themselves that the only answer is biological and real.

Adding gender glitter and fairydust does not change that.

Gender may be complicated (if you believe in it).

I think any right minded individual has only got to spend about 30 seconds looking at that website to realise that gender is utter fiction.

My favourite so far (I've only actually read about 3 of them) might be:

www.lgbtqia.wiki/wiki/Xenogender

"and umbrella term for identities that cannot be fully described through their relation to concepts typically used to describe gender"

"and umbrella term for identities that cannot be fully described through their relation to concepts typically used to describe gender"

Yes you can see exactly how many of these concepts arose through people trying to come up with yet more special categories that make them more special than everyone else...

Another thing about all these neogenders is how we are meant to take them seriously one one level, and it would be transphobic to say "I'm not calling you ze/zir, what a load of nonsense" - and yet when it comes to prisons, toilets etc it's apparently essential to have just men's and women's and not other spaces for all these people who consider themselves to have special genders. Why is that then? A male who calls himself a woman must have a right to go in the woman's toilet and can't go in the men's - that means logically there is no toilet for NB people or ze/zirs etc.

And it's so obvious that if you have dozens of neogenders and people keep inventing new ones, they are made up and simply attempts to make you "queer" on the basis of personality.

Nothing at all to admire about that women. She feels sorry for a trans woman (biological man) who raped 2 women rather than feeling sorry for the women! He raped with a penis, he is a man, he and his meat and 2 veg should go to a prison with other men. No pity at all for him. Stop enabling rapists. With a friend like that.....

This in reply to the person who thinks that being a woman is a choice. Sex cannot change at all ever. Put on a frock, lippy and a wig, maybe some surgery or not, still not a woman.

As another poster said what makes a person a woman "Being a woman it's not something you choose. It's something you are.
And A man can never become a woman, no matter how they feel it, or how much they want it. That doesn't mean they can't do everything else they think they need to do to be a woman whilst being a man. All power to them, live your best life.. But biologically, they can never be. So they shouldn't be in women's single sex spaces"

Spot on. A man can NEVER be a woman, her will never know what being a real woman is, a biological woman. He can try, he can change his gender and we all can but he cannot change his biological sex. It is in the cells of his body and he cannot change every cell. He might feel wrong in his body but that doesn't make him a her.
