What the actual fuck. This was a sentence said to me today at a discussion group I go to. No worry for the poor woman (women?) That was/ were raped. No. Just the rapist who raped.

I pointed out that said transwoman is a man and should therefore be in a men's prison, and was told "no she's not, she's a woman now" at which point I decided to change the topic for this week because it's not the sort of group where we want to have heated discussions.

I'm just shocked and saddened that a woman I like and admire is so happy to throw other women under the bus

So go on @FellOnMyArseToDay break it down for me. What exactly is a woman? You’ve stated it’s not biology, so what exactly is a woman? Been waiting for an answer for many years now, maybe you are the golden one who can answer. Remember your answer must include all women and transwomen but exclude all men and transmen. And not include the word woman. Go on, you can do it! I believe in you.

There's a real trend in progressive circles now to see all crime through a lens of the criminal as a victim. Of society, circumstance, the system, systemic sexism, systemic racism, etc. And to say that no one should be in prison, the real answer is to dismantle the systems that lead to crime, including defund the police.

It's not just about rapists, people who do drive by shootings, muggers, thefts, etc are all seen from the same perspective. There is no responsibility on them as individuals.

It seems crazy when it's written out in full, but if you watch carefully you can see it everywhere in discussions of the justice system on the left.

A colleague of mine brought this up with me this week. The general gist being that this person is probably as trans as they are (i.e not at all) and their scheme to be incarcerated in a woman's jail has been thankfully scuppered. No sympathy there for the poor rapist!
Me either I'm afraid. This dangerous manipulative man should be locked up with other men. If they are vulnerable in any way, I'm sure that the Prison Service has methods for dealing with that. There will be many other vulnerable men in prison too, but I bet they don't all get transferred to women's prisons.

No, it isn't. If you don't define femaleness by biology, then that means anyone of either sex can be a woman, and then it has no meaning at all. Because there's is not test, argument, logical explanation given for what makes someone a woman - all we're given is "you're a woman if you say you are". That's obviously nonsense as it's easy to fake - any man can now say "I'm a woman" for a variety of nefarious reasons, and they are doing. Also, many young people have been lied to that they can just be the opposite sex, then later realised that wasn't true and changed their minds. This points very clearly to there being no other clear way to be a woman or a man, then biologically.

If you think "woman" means anyone who says they are one or who "sees things" a particular way, then that biological category is still going to exist, and needs a name and an identity.

Just like if you said dogs can be cats if you say they are. Bollocks. You can say it all you like, you can take the name "cat" away from the biological category, but they will still exist as a biological group and they will still have different needs from dogs.

I think we probably could see a drop in crime if the drivers behind were addressed. I'd prefer to see that happen before we stop sending people to prison though.. although, cynical me thinks even if you did, there would still be criminals because some people just want more money than they can earn legitimately, there will always be crimes committed in passion/anger and unless all drugs were legalised, there's still going to be trade, ditto prostitution, ditto cruelty to animals/children, and so on..

Re crime, I do agree the causes and drivers are important and for some people it's a path that's hard to avoid. I am strongly in favour of prison reform, money being spent on rehabilitation, prisoners being treated with respect, and society dealing with the root causes much better.

BUT prisoners having human rights to be treated with dignity does not mean believing any old crap they say and pandering to their every whim just because, and only because, the magic "trans" card was played. OF COURSE that ridiculous situation was always going to lead to criminals getting what they could out of it.

We need dignity and safety for all prisoners, not fuck women and everyone else and put self-ID'd trans people on a pedestal. The unfairness and ridiculousness is off the scale.

But it's clear that poverty and marginalisation and racism aren't the causes of sex crimes. (Epstein, Trump, Hollywood, etc.)

Yes agree DarkDay and also it shouldn't be beyond the wit of prison services, governments and the police to see that is a man is a sex offender, then he may well have an ulterior motive for suddenly "becoming a TW", particularly as it's becoming an obvious pattern. FFS.

Definitely show your friend the pictures of Isla with his genitals outlined and without the wig. Then tell her that 90% of male offenders who claim to be women are housed without problems in men's prisons - so this one does in fact have somewhere to go.
