What the actual fuck. This was a sentence said to me today at a discussion group I go to. No worry for the poor woman (women?) That was/ were raped. No. Just the rapist who raped.

I pointed out that said transwoman is a man and should therefore be in a men's prison, and was told "no she's not, she's a woman now" at which point I decided to change the topic for this week because it's not the sort of group where we want to have heated discussions.

I'm just shocked and saddened that a woman I like and admire is so happy to throw other women under the bus

The rapist is not a she, only men can rape. You are insulting the raped women by referring to their rapist as she. Also he is not a threat to trans women as they are men, but he is a clear threat to women. The rapist would find it difficult to rape a man, and as trans women are men they are able to fight him off. Vulnerable women in prison are not able to fight of a man who is intent on raping them.

*in England, at least. I don't know what the proportion is in Scotland!

Mainly biology and a bit of luck...Female from conception, survive the gestation bit, successfully born, now a girl, survive to adulthood you are now a woman.

Being a woman makes life harder for a lot of women the world over because of our biology.

Being a woman it's not something you choose. It's something you are.

And A man can never become a woman, no matter how they feel it, or how much they want it. That doesn't mean they can't do everything else they think they need to do to be a woman whilst being a man. All power to them, live your best life.. But biologically, they can never be. So they shouldn't be in women's single sex spaces

And for those looking for clarity from the poster arguing that being a woman is more complicated than sex, you won't get one.
There never IS an answer from them, because they know themselves that the only answer is biological and real.

It really is a very particular personality trait to publicly draw attention to the weapon you used, after committing a horrific crime. I don't expect remorse from rapists but this is another level of chilling entitlement.

I'm laughing my head off that some people have claimed to think dear rapist Adam/Isla poses an equal sort of threat to transwomen and women.

This person attacks women. Abuses women. Rapes women. Their whole history points to abusing women. At no point have they shown interest in raping other blokes! That's just absurd!

A lot of TRAs have sense to pretend that this scenario never even existed, because putting a rapist (who can only ever be a man) in a women's prison because they claim to be trans is an indefensible argument.

Then there are those who are stupid enough to defend the rapist, and argue against misgendering the rapist. At what point with trans rights did it become a requirement to defend rapists?

Not cats and dogs, but your post brought to mind this lovely little children's book by French author Gilles Bachelet, about an elephant who thinks he's a cat and behaves in every conceivable way like a cat (grooming, playing, using his - much too small - litter box, etc.) Wholeheartedly recommend. I've given it to several children in the family and they never tire of it ("but that's an elephant!!")

No, being a woman is biological, nothing else and it’s certainly not up for redefinition by deluded males that want to include themselves.

Please do explain how seeing things as a woman is defined in your sexist head and how does this align with being a rapist (which is a male pastime)? Can you give examples of how women see things compared to how men see things, compared to how NB people see things? Do you have any scientific evidence that supports your claim?

There are really no need for the mental gymnastics that these people go through.
It IS one of the simplest things on the planet in fact.
Humans have been reproducing for hundreds of thousands of years, even in places where they know nothing about biology, chromosomes, anatomy and physiology, DNA, or even that elusive "inner feeling" of "gender".

ONLY biology makes men and women.
It is the basis of life on this planet.
It will still be that way long after words have been redefined to mean absolute nonsense.
It will still be that way when all of us are long gone.

It is a constant.
