I should imagine the clip will be doing the rounds on twitter shortly if it's not already, but their Scotland correspondant Ciaran Jenkins did a really good job in a brief interview with her when she was on a tour of a TV studio today. Raised the issue of Katie Dolatowski, and got her quite rattled trying to get her to justify her comments about transphobia and racism. Should be on about 8:15/8:20ish if you want to watch it on C4+1

A bit like Boris and Brexit.

I can only assume that comment to be made tongue in cheek.

I think Boris and Nicola have a lot more in common than many want to admit. Johnson is crass so he gets it from the left. But as a leftie I do see Nicola S is not that different. She plays to her gallery in much the same way: she uses the same dissembling techniques.

In further bad news for Sturgeon:

"UPDATE: My justice committee colleagues today agreed to my request to scrutinise why a double rapist was allowed into a women's prison.

It's vital that we question the prison service and the SNP Government👇"

How many sex offenders are actually successfully prosecuted again, and how many go on floating around doing their thing because the law doesn't work for women?

Well, as far as I know, if they've been done for one, the Police take it seriously for subsequent offences.

At out last house, the neighbour opposite exposed himself to my wife (I was working away). I asked round and several other neighbours and it turned out he'd done it to loads of women. We got two neighbours and a woman who'd parked in our street (she knew our pub landlady) to go to the Police.

We went first and they were very interested. He was arrested on the four charges and went to Crown Court, where it transpired that he had a record like Mr. Tickle's arm. His favourite was doing it at schools. Guilty on four counts.

scratchedbymycat · 01/02/2023 18:21

No, the Telegraph and the Times have been exposing this, in well-reported detail, for years. And the Daily Mail. I presume you usually get your news from the Guardian or the BBC.

I'm a news junkie, so read and listen to almost anything. I don't think I've seen this much coverage on this topic before. I keep expecting it to tail off as the news cycle moves on.

borntobequiet · 01/02/2023 18:45

She plays to her gallery in much the same way: she uses the same dissembling techniques.

I was responding to what was said to be a charitable view of NS’s motives.
I don’t think it’s possible to hold a charitable view of BJ’s, unless one is deluded.

LexMitior · 01/02/2023 19:05

They are two sides of the same coin. Lots of division and rabble rousing. The fact that there is veneer that looks a little different is not relevant,

Both Johnson and Sturgeon are big mouth, no trousers, she taps into an appetite to wag a finger at England, he engages in colonial fantasy,

justasking111 · 01/02/2023 19:06

The shambles in the commons followed by the vote on self identification opened many people's eyes the prison thing was the icing on the cake for the media. The gloves are off now. I'm still waiting for a snippet of gossip known by many but not published to be revealed

Darkskybrightmind · 01/02/2023 14:40

I am now convinced NS believes what she is saying. She has only been talking to gender ideologues and she believes, uncritically and without evidence, what they have told her. Including that the people opposing gender ideology are bad, bad people who can have a whole load of labels thrown at them.

I genuinely think she’s allowed herself to be indoctrinated and believes all that. It’s easy to happen if you only listen to one side, and she has.

I'd say there's a lot that will be revealed in time about her and hubby. Plenty of rumours about his other life and press injunctions.

There's a little more than usual but between them the Times and the Telegraph have been publishing several gender-ideology related articles a week. Just look down the FWR: Sex and Gender timeline. Day after day 'Article in the Telegraph', Article in the Times' and links for everyone to read.

Please not "Sturgeon's lavender marriage". Even if she is actually a lesbian who would care???

More what he gets up to than her.

If she is a lesbian why does she care, she hides it. I dont believe it would have ever prevented her from becoming the first minister if she had come out at any time in the last 20 years.

Do you think this could have been the Times and Telegraphs embargoed front page the other day? Have they managed to get yet another bloody injunction?

NicolaSturgeonsSOGIbottom · 01/02/2023 22:29

I went googling for rumours and Tattle has a few!

on my search I found this really funny puff piece from 2004: www.heraldscotland.com/news/12410490.party-girl-the-snp-is-nicola-sturgeons-life-so-when-the-leader-has-a-rare-night-off-she-lets-her-hair-down-with-a-night-in-and-a-takeaway/

it’s loads of words yet somehow says absolutely nothing of interest.

Do any of you ever think about how a trans woman would feel stumbling across your threads on here?

I know you all feel strongly about this but I feel genuinely sad at how the understandably emotive issue of trans women in prisons has whipped people up to a point where there's such glee in posts like this, and underneath it all is such a dismissive and negative view of all the trans women in our society and how they feel - which is often I would imagine desperately unseen, marginalised and discriminated against.

Calling a group the "trans women are women brigade" is so unkind to trans women everywhere who deserve to be recognised.

I recognise them with 100% accuracy and I don’t want them in women’s loos, changing rooms, prisons, sports or shortlists.

I would have repetitive strain injury by now.

My mind wanders...to how attractive he is, great sense of humour & what a decent bloke.

FrancescaContini · 02/02/2023 08:29

@LikeAnOldFriend you’ve given me a good laugh with your posts especially the image of a TW “stumbling” around on MN. Poor, vulnerable TW 😂

Emotionalsupportviper · 02/02/2023 09:20

They wouldn't be able to read any further than the first three posts, because they would be blinded by their own tears @FrancescaContini

Poor wee sossidges (not a euphemism . . . though I suppose it could be . . . 😄)

Hedjwitch · 02/02/2023 10:04

Sturgeon and Murrell have the MSM tied up with superinjunctions. The lavender marriage/lesbian thing is hardly news and not the issue. Its the level of dishonesty and corruption that these two oversee virtually unchallenged. The trans issue may have been the thing that finally created a crack in the SNP but my goodness there is so much more to come.
