We would do well to not forget that Mr Tatchell wrote of his belief that sexual abuse by adults on children brought 9 year olds great pleasure, although of course his comments were <checks notes> 'misunderstood'. A letter to the Guardian, no less, in which he stated 'it is time society acknowledged the truth that not all sex involving children is unwanted, abusive and harmful' Lovely man, don't you think?

I suggest that a lot of people who insisted on using that slogan have had to explain. Or those who couldn’t define women .

The man is still a spokesperson for Stonewall…. I cannot see how they have allowed him to continue to be, but they do. Hence Stonewall is rotten at the core.

One thing about Tatchell is though, when posters are fuckwittering around with the ridiculous ‘guilt by association’ accusations, it is Tatchell that proves to be their undoing.

Once his name comes into the discussion, they have to either accept that their own movement is in no way pure or they attempt to distract. Usually with very personal attacks.

Although, I have had posters try to convince us that Tatchell was a great spokesperson and bluff their way through .

Peter Tatchell is the individual human equivalent of Stonewall the Org.

Both were involved in some really effective activism for LGB people in the dim and distant past and they’ve been coasting on that success ever since. It’s getting harder and harder to keep doing it.

And everyone in the media, political, laptop, liberal class is politely doing their best not to look at Tatchell or Stonewall up close because there’s a lot of bad wood underneath that shiny rainbow veneer.
The smell of damp is hard to miss, but as long as the mould spores aren’t visible they can keep politely ignoring the rotten core.

But if you are held in a ‘seperate wing’ , presumably with other female identifiers, what would be the point? Because that wouldn’t be a woman’s prison, it would be a ……..prison, a prison for penis deniers. So that wouldn’t be affirming, which would be ‘literal violence’ ( plenty of that around, of course, where these penis deniers are concerned).

Really disturbingly, Ben Bradshaw MP, who shouted at Rosie Duffield and defended LRM behaviour as "calling out transphobia" then retweeted Tatchell's post about it being "laughable" that a rapist would dress as a woman to access female prison.

I cannot get my head round being an MP and then amplifying someone like PT. Especially when you're all over the news being criticised for your behaviour already. Blows my mind.

I'm honestly not trying to get at BoiledBeetle but I noticed in another thread you referred to him as Thatchell throughout - is this a 'Thatcher' joke or a typo? Only because it took me a while to click that it was Tatchell!

I don’t think the media should necessarily ignore Tatchell, but his history of interest in children should be included every time he is mentioned.
