He was Joint Chief of Staff under Theresa May:

www.telegraph.co.uk/news/2023/01/22/britain-becoming-sick-trans-debate-facts-can-cure/

"The legislation is part of a trend in which transgenderism and gender fluidity are normalised and made mainstream in culture. This is the kind of cultural context in which charities like Mermaids and even the NHS through its Tavistock clinic helped young people to make irreversible decisions to change their bodiess_. It is how governing bodies allow female sports to be ruined by trans athletes. It is how the BBC website joyfully writes up stories about children becoming drag queens, and cross-dressing men are invited to read to primary school pupils in schools and libraries.

It is how nobody stops to ask how many such men are moved to act in these ways through their own sexual desire. Autogynephilia, the feeling of sexual arousal some men feel as they pretend to be women, is according to some researchers behind many or even most cases of gender dysphoria among those born as men. It is legitimate to ask whether non-consenting women ought to be participants in such sexual fantasies."

Are archive links forbidden?

I think they sometimes get hidden out of hours literally so that MNHQ can take a look and check it's ok, because some archive links might be maliciously leading people places they'd rather not go. What some people do is post the address of the archive site and then what to look for on it, I think.

NO???

I've eaten my siblings, my cousins.

but I've never eaten a terf or a tory

My brain is singing "AGP" to the tune of "here we go, here we go..."

So glad he went there. He's right, stating the truth is the only way out of this mess. Perhaps some other journalists will notice the sky didn't fall down, and also be willing to point out the elephant in the room.

It's insane that there's been such a taboo on stating the obvious. I remember a few years ago wondering if even JK Rowling could get away with introducing the word "autogynephilia" to the public, and concluding there was no way in hell.

I think she could get away with it these days, but maybe she won't have to be one of the first over the top, this time.

DarkDayforMN · 23/01/2023 01:33

So glad he went there.

I should have been more specific! This is the part I'm grateful for.

Right, I can't stand the suspense. If I'm not around tomorrow...remember me!

Boiledbeetlelovesbeautifullybindedbundles · 23/01/2023 01:33

Somebody in a mainstream paper that still carries clout and is read by people who don't do the internet social media thing had to be the one to do it first. And it needed to be a man.

I'm just glad it's out there. It's a nice link for Helle to add to her collection of all there's this that says that collection when she does her no not having it posts.

It was in the OPs opening post. So..... If they were going to zap it Resister had already said it from the off. So we are all equally as responsible.

I agree!

Clymene · 23/01/2023 04:17

That is an amazing article. No pussyfooting around at all:

The Act involves an obvious dishonesty. For while its title refers to gender, those in receipt of a GRC are allowed to change their recorded sex on their birth certificate – and changing sex is a biological impossibility

And I know I've had posts deleted for writing facts like: Autogynephilia, the feeling of sexual arousal some men feel as they pretend to be women, is according to some researchers behind many or even most cases of gender dysphoria among those born as men.

Bravo Nick

SallyLockheart · 23/01/2023 05:10

Wow. Just wow

ResisterRex · 23/01/2023 05:51

Morning vipers! I trust you had a pleasant evening. I agree Nick T should have spoken up. Maybe he's had an epiphany. Maybe he disagreed at the time. Who knows.

I'm glad he said this:

Autogynephilia, the feeling of sexual arousal some men feel as they pretend to be women, is according to some researchers behind many or even most cases of gender dysphoria among those born as men. I do not consent.

To be fair to him, which I never thought I'd say about a Tory, it's more than possible that his opinions have changed as he's learned more. I know mine have. I always had concerns, going back to my teens but then they were more about medical intervention and how that seemed barbaric. I thought that maybe Germaine Greer was going a bit too far. I see things differently now. TRAs have actually helped me change my mind on many aspects because their violent pushing of an ideology and throwing lesbians to the wolves made me realise how messed up this was. Also, the number of young lesbians coming out as trans or non binary was evidence of the underlying homophobia of the cult. It became clear that this was dangerous.

Wrt to the article I fear it will be ignored or ridiculed by those at the forefront because it's in The Telegraph which is anathema to them. The whole thing is an utter clusterfuck.

I think he's slightly wrong about the kink. I think it's very much that way for, possibly, the majority of older men. For teens and young men I think it's ideology and discomfort with being gay for the, possible, majority.

Madamedefargelikescrows · 23/01/2023 06:16

Apropos of the possible kink thing I remember reading about the "woman" flashing in Nottingham (I think) and because of the reporting I thought it was a woman who was masturbating all over the place and how unusual that was. It's only in recent months that I learned it was a man and then it made sense. I'd thought that "she" must be drunk, high, or having a mental breakdown. The lack of clarity in the reporting was egregious.

borntobequiet · 23/01/2023 06:23

Nick Timothy is dreadful in every other way but he’s right on this. I expect he thought it was just silly irrelevant stuff when he was in a position of actual power.

MrsJamin · 23/01/2023 06:23

Thank you Nick. Now we can call a spade a spade! How succinctly put, no mincin his words and he also explains why it impacts any women in that space.

Walrussy · 23/01/2023 06:28

To be fair to him, which I never thought I'd say about a Tory, it's more than possible that his opinions have changed as he's learned more.

Yes, and the demands for people to educate themselves on trans issues is a bit of a misstep. It was spending 30 minutes on the Reddit mtf subreddit and seeing all the posts about wanting boobs and being turned on by the way they jiggle, and the million claims about getting euphoria boners over themselves that convinced me AGP was completely real.

PermanentTemporary · 23/01/2023 06:29

Nick Timothy finding something to write that isn't about Johnson getting a corrupt loan of £800k or Zadawi 'forgetting' about £27 million...

I don't disagree with him though.

I'll never forgive the lefties who have gifted the Tories such a political distraction.

Somanysocks · 23/01/2023 07:03

So, we're allowed to say AGP now?

AGP

Helleofabore · 23/01/2023 07:12

I wonder if he will get ‘deleted’ for it.

Was this the one trying on clothes and taking photos of themself flashing?

I read they were gay, yet there behaviour seemed very much like Nick's paragraph below!

Can men with AGP be gay?

Does Nick mention 'castration', as we're discussing forbidden things?

Autogynephilia, the feeling of sexual arousal some men feel as they pretend to be women, is according to some researchers behind many or even most cases of gender dysphoria among those born as men.
