I stopped reading the Grauniad ages ago, about the only good journalism used to be by John Harris. He developed the staggeringly innovative technique of using a train to leave London and then ask ordinary people about issues. The sort of people who didn't go to Oxford and did stuff like drink Fosters in Weatherspoons and go to football matches. Amazingly, they often thought differently to North London Labour activists, and Harris explored why that might be.

I'm always amused by the thought of Jones having to talk to an actual working class person who thinks differently to him.

Just had a quick look at that OJ/Nimco Ali breakfast "date". A funny bit at the end where someone asks whether it was interesting. OJ says "yes" and Nimco says "no".

That will be because OJ will have thought that he'd met a "diverse person" and that will reflect well on him while NA will have thought she'd met just another middle class man with an inflated sense of his own importance and relevance.
