Woohoo it's over 8000.

Is it just my eyesight or does Brighton and Hove look darker than most in England? Interesting if so!

SheldontheWonderSchlong · 29/12/2022 09:21

Signed - thank you

nilsmousehammer · 29/12/2022 09:33

Many people around Brighton and Hove have a lot to put up with. Particularly the ones concerned with safeguarding and equality of access for all.

Boiledbeetle · 29/12/2022 09:40

It's look at the map but realise I have absolutely no bloody clue whatsoever what part of the map t o look at.

I never even know where to look for where I actually live mind either.

I think along with vaginas, my list of things to look at today needs maps of the UK added to it.

Boiledbeetle · 29/12/2022 09:41

Bugger in obviously not awake yet, the above was about Brighton and Hove

It is darker in one Brighton constituency and the surrounds. Russell Moyle’s electorate is moderately darker in comparison to the rest of UK though.

I am delighted we have these maps of anger. They are fascinating.

Yes arabella, my area is a ‘hotter’ spot but no where near as hot as Scotland. Well done Scotland

Boiledbeetle · 29/12/2022 10:15

It's so interesting looking at that map. The border towns on the English side are getting darker slowly as well. Not really surprising but it is interesting to see the visual representation of annoyance

Whereareyourshoes · 29/12/2022 10:22

For a while Layla Moran’s constituency was one of the darker ones too. I wonder if she still sees gendered souls?

What, pray, is a “gendered soul”?

ArabellaScott · 29/12/2022 10:40

Layla Moran:

‘I believe that women are women, so if that person was a trans woman, I absolutely would. I just do not see the issue. As for whether they have a beard, which was one of the hon. Gentleman’s earlier comments, I dare say that some women have beards. There are all sorts of reasons why our bodies react differently to hormones. There are many forms of the human body. I see someone in their soul and as a person. I do not really care whether they have a male body.’

ArabellaScott · 29/12/2022 10:41

Sorry, missing the preceding question, which is needed for context:

David T. C. Davies:

‘I hear what the hon. Lady is saying. May I bluntly ask her whether she would be happy sharing a changing room with somebody who was born male and had a male body?’

Layla Moran was charged with assault of her partner in 2019:

Anyone else feel a bit of unease signing these petitions lest full names and postcodes end up hacked by TRAs and spread far and wide? Especially when you have a unique forename and surname and a postcode with about 6 houses in it (as I do).

ArabellaScott · 29/12/2022 10:57

Sometimes, a bit. It would be an illegal hack, though.

On top of what Arabella said I think I'm at the point where I give no fucks.

Although i have no job they could hound me out of which might make the difference

Cherryblossoms85 · 29/12/2022 11:01

I really don't think this is a good idea. There is no issue with the 2004 act, there is an issue with the recent Scottish legislation.

ArabellaScott · 29/12/2022 11:03

Apart from the fact that there is no difference between 'sex' and 'gender'? And no clear definition of the latter?

OP posts:
ArabellaScott · 29/12/2022 11:04

no difference between 'sex' and 'gender' in law, I mean. This was confirmed at the recent judicial review and the Scottish Government have asserted it before, too.

you don't think there's a problem with a law that is massively sexist? At the very least it needs to be rewritten so female aristos can inherit by getting their 'man' certificate, surely?

That’s ok. We’re allowed to disagree. That’s why a debate in parliament would be a good thing.

There were always plenty of issues with the 2004 Act, many of which were highlighted during parliamentary discussions at the time.

But the biggest issue is the legal fiction it created that a male person can become a female person and a female person can become a male person.

So many people tying themselves in knots all down to that single lie.
