JK doesn’t need any of our money

Just as an aside, while I have no objection to JKR making money off her books, I sometimes see people saying they're going to buy all the HP books (sometimes for a second time) “to support her”. I would gently suggest not to do that – your money is more effectively donated for one of the court cases or one of the grassroots women's organisations.

I think many people say that because apart from wanting the books anyway, it's to show she's not being cancelled in the real world of readers.... but she's not being anyway.

Someone sniped at her asking why she didn't do this 20 years ago? I can imagine him (for it was inevitably a bloke, sitting back after he typed it, with his lips pursed like a cat's arse, thinking he'd done a massive gotcha)

Rowling responded simply that she had in fact been funding rape shelters for the last twenty years.

Of course, being the woman she is, she did so in private.
