This is an experimental thread, all input much appreciated!

There is so much excellent information and so many active discussions on FWR that I wondered if it would be useful to have a thread to sort of "cross-fertilise" between them - airing little thoughts or vignettes that wouldn't themselves merit their own thread, to highlight other posts/threads of particular interest or to point to notable developments on fast-moving threads so that casual observers know where to look.

(For example, "the X thread has meandered onto a fascinating discussion of Y" or "Poster P's amazing analysis on thread Z might have relevance to the scenario in thread W" or even "Random bloke asked me to smile while I was choosing onions, grr"- that sort of thing).

Right, bring on the flames or flowers! <cowers>

"What does the protection look like in a mixed-sex ward?"

I can only speak for the wards I've worked on, one of which was mental health which saw each individual patient have a minimum of one staff member with them at all times, and the current one where only patients of the same sex share bathrooms, and given the nature of the injuries our patients have, it's rare to have one that would be capable of wandering in to the room of another to begin with let alone unobserved. If we had information that would lead us to believe any patient might be a risk to other patients, they would be monitored one to one 24/7

Sorry Elsie, I know I'm being really thick but I've still only half got it. Are they saying that cis automatically equals transphobe?

No idea, it doesn't make sense, I think they forget that cis is meant to be a neutral term.

IcakethereforeIam · 24/12/2022 12:04

I thought if someone called themselves 'cis' they were supposed to be a trans ally?

I think it's just stating that he likes committing acts of violence against females and intends to keep on doing it. Listing his hobbies.

I am so pissed off by Starmer's statement. Everyone is fed up with the Tories and the next election should be a slam dunk for Labour, but enough angry women might affect the balance. If I still had a vote in the UK I wouldn't know what to do with it.

angelico53 · 24/12/2022 16:41

Starmer is such an unlikeable man.

I keep hearing rumous that Andy Burnham may resign as mayor manc and stand in Rosie Cooper's seat. I don't trust him an inch. But I quite like him. Go on, Andy. Rid us of this miserable secular priest.

This interview (well, kind of) with the man in the WiSpa incident is absolutely jaw-dropping.

Do we all think this general rambling thread is working well? I'd be happy to start a successor thread before we (1) run out of posts and (2) sign off for Christmas.
