The WI non-members questionnaire: quick and easy to make your point

The WI is concerned that numbers are falling and fewer and fewer women are signing up. It doesn't seem to have occurred to them that women aren't keen on so-called women's organisations that accept men. Quick, easy and loads of room to say what you want.

So disingenuous only to reveal their gender identity bollocks at the last page.

The reason I won't join is I'm not keen on organisations that segregate by gender or sex. Nor am I interested in lectures on plants, poetry or the history of a local town (the 3 thing's listed here)

It's had it's day, that's the reason for its decline, not that theoretically they accept trans women, as if any would actually want to join!

ive explained that if I were to join a mixed sex organisation I would want that to include everyone. That if I were to join a women’s group I would want it to include women only, feels quite basic but clearly they’re struggling......

I was one of the younger members in a rural WI: loved the mixture of talks, activities and just the general chat with other women I probably wouldn't have met. (And, I've got to honest, the recipes. Got to love 12-egg cakes to feed hungry farmers.) Meetings were 7pm so we got a reasonable cross section of people, but it went into voluntary suspension when the committee were bullied by the regional branch management and resigned en masse. The membership sided with the committee, and that was that. Whole thing left a bad taste for me, and I didn't seek out a new one to join.

I'd join our local group but it's small and mixed sex. So, I'd rather go along to the local gardening group because ittpriperlt

I gave them this on why I wasn't joining:

"Unfortunately you don’t seem to grasp that women want to associate with women, not men in frocks, in a women’s organisation. You do know that transwomen are not actually women right? Identification does not equal reality or biology. (If it does, can I identify as a cat and stay overnight in catteries instead of hotels? Or pay WI membership dues in monopoly money as I identify it as real money? )"

PatChauncey, Ah, I have no knowledge of where the WI is and whether it's in Northern Ireland - I was commenting on what the survey said about where they operate which didn't mention Northern Ireland, or indeed Scotland, but did mention England and Wales and some islands. It doesn't say much for whoever drew up the survey.

Not only did I tell them i lament they've taken the path like girl guides of betraying their sex but I told them they were tainted by religion & monarchism, and gender stereotypes. Shame, as I love good crafts & good cake!

It's such a shame, because my answer to the first question was that yes I would join based on their description. And I probably would if I didn't realise their definition of women included men.

Pretty definite they won't. It's obviously a concerted effort by transphobic terms to spam the survey so can therefore be completely discounted.

I was interested in joining but the first meeting I saw had this person insulting women with a lot of rubbish so I didn't bother

I thought about completing the survey but have decided not to.

Any organisation which claims to be women only but admits men on the basis of lady feels is too stupid or spinless for me to waste time on.

I'm all out of patience with this shit. The WI can wither and die as far as I'm concerned.

I don't know or maybe is not an option for the first couple of questions. I got bored at the question where I had to rearrange things in order.
